holy aids.. i just got that riddle in English like 2 days ago.. and it was the first time i've ever heard it.. and now it's here agian.. de mo fuckin ja vu
 
4 men are out on a boat fishing. They have 4 cigarettes, but nothing at all to light them. How do they light their cigarettes?

there are 4 prisoners and they are about to get executed, but they are granted one last chance to survive...
They get lined up and are given hats, 2 white (X) and 2 black (O) hats. (the prisoners know there are two black and 2 white hats.)
they are lined up like this:
X O X | O
there are three prisoners in front of the wall and one behind ...they are all looking towards the Right -> and are not allowed to look back.they can only see the color of the hats in front of them.they are not allowed to communicate in any way.they do not know what color hat they themselves are wearing...they need to guess their hat color.if one of them guesses right, they all survive.if they guess wrong they all get executed ....they have 10min. time to decide...
How can they survive?
 
oh and another one:
There are three lightswitches, numbered 1 2 and 3 only one of them is connected to the lightbulb in the other room, you have 10min.time, then you are called inside the room with the lightbulb and you have to tell what switch is connected to the lightbulb.(you are not allowed to guess)

according to CSI the firefighters were scooping up water out of a lake with one of those helicopters and accidently sucked the scuba diver into it. when they dumped the water he fell out with it and fell into the tree dead. I think they did it on mthbuster too, cant remember if its able to happen though.
 
this is not relevant; all guys are equally tall (=irrelevant)but the guy on the far left can see the 2ppls color in front of him (black and white)

they are not allowed to, they can only see the hats from the people in front of them and they can't turn or walk around or talk to eachother, they also cannot look over the wall...
 
well the way you worded it, since they are lined up xoxo, the first would be able to tell what he was just based on whether the two in front of him are black white or white black....

no he cant, he can only see the ppl in front of him have two different colors, he cant see the person behind the wall so he still doesnt know anything.....
