How did Asap Rocky do this?

In Asap Rocky's video for L$D, it breaks in the middle for the first verse of "Excuse Me", in which he is rapping into a broken mirror,
. I didn't pay too much attention to it, just thought it was cool, but recently I realized that there would have to be a camera in the reflection so how the fuck is that a thing. There is no way that it was shot through a piece of glass for two reasons, 1.) you can see his hand in the mirror and in the frame of the camera in a few of the shots and 2.) he has stated in interviews that that was a spur of the moment thing and there was no preparation for it. This has been killing me if any can help that'd be gr8 out of 8.

camera is at an angle and is shooting 'upside down' so it is never being viewed in the mirror. tilt your head and you will notice the camera man just aimed it down and walked forward and it looks almost directly above it but its not...it's also trimmed. good concept

But it almost looks directly at the mirror

Its a very well executed visual effect. Rocky was filmed as if the lens of the camera was the mirror, and that shot was then composted into the frame of the mirror, then in another shot Rocky reenacted his hand movements that are now in the mirror, with the camera in his chest area. This was then composited in the area around the mirror. Add some screenshake in the mirror and there you go

Gonna go out on a limb and say ASAP rocky didn't do this, a clever filmer/editor/producer did this

could be done on a green screen, like this shot below, and when candide puts his goggles on in OOTD2.

This is the answer, the angle of the camera, the reflection of the mirror and the curved edge of the mirror creates an illusion that the camera is looking directly at the mirror, but its not.

I was tripping and that song came on at my peak and everything went into straight cartoon mode and that scene blew my mind.
