How could you steal skis?

my friend and i just got back from hiking up our local mountain and sliding down it on sleds. upon reaching the base, there were four pairs of skis, no lock, nothing. they were just sitting in front of an empty lodge, on an abondoned ski hill, at 12:30AM. one of the pair of skis was brand new volkl karmas with salomon bindings on them. the thought never crossed my mind to take them even though it would have been easier than beating a homeless person at a game of LIFE. instead, i walked to the new skis and snagged the ten buck rental poles next to them.... score. so it makes me think how fucked you have to be in the head to take someone else's skis.

poles are legit to steal but skis that just mean. sure someone will be dissapointed if you steal there poles . but then theyll just steal someone elses poles. if someones steals someones skis then they fucked and there goes there day.
 
probably. like that one episode of cops where they had a bike laying up against the building in downtown somewhere.

they had fucking cops on the roof tops, and cops on the ground waiting for someone to steal a bike so they could fine them.

I bet they weren't skis at all, but just an illusion set up by a couple of people from burton, so when you pick up the skis, they shock you, and you never want to ski again because of the nastiness the skis gave you....

im sorry i stole a mountain's rental poles because it was probably their only pair. shit i suck at life, you guys are totally right, damn.
 
its the principle of stealing you dumb fuck.  I hope I never meet you, you suck. Rental Poles or not, it doesnt matter.
 
I've done that before. Still I'm pretty sure I got the guys poles who took mine cause they looked pretty similar and were close together; he probably just got mixed up.

yeah when i was a kid i took something that wasn't mine. Then I grew up and realized that stealing is among the lowest of things you can do.  Mr. Clean Soul? Ha, No. It's called morals and karma.  Try it out sometime. 
 
fuck you. that's the stupidest way to look at the situation. I'd be pretty pissed if someone stole my poles regardless of how much they cost or how easy they are to replace. it's assholes like you that make me have to spend time locking up my stuff and hoping no one comes around and takes something- even if it's just some poles. what makes you think it's "legit" to steal poles? I call that illegal. and who says that person is going to sink down to your level of pathetic scum and steal someone else's poles? sorry about the rant but please have some thought for whose lives you're affecting every time you steal some seemingly worthless item.
 
I had my poles stolen last year. Fucking pissed me off. They were carbon fiber poles I got for 15$ at a ski swap, I had them for five years. If you are going to take poles, make sure they're rentals and not somebody's favorite poles that they are very attached to. I really want them back, I hate the poles I have now.
 
anyone who steals is a piece of shit. even poles. I posted this in another thread but at Copper my first day out I had a brand new pair of $40 poles that my mom bought me for my birthday. I set them up by my skis and go into the lodge for 15 minutes. When I come back out they are replaced with shitty ass $10 poles.

Atleast they left me something but the point is that those meant a lot to me because my mom choose them and bought them for me.

To anyone who steals, go fuck yourself. You'd be pretty pissed if someone stole from you so don't do it to others.
 
if you get your shit stolen at the hill its your own fault. do you leave your bike chilling somewhere unlocked in the city? then why would you leave your skis hanging out at the mountain? get real.
 
skiing is a rich sport anyway, not like you guys cant afford to buy some more, or mommy and daddy cant afford it rather. i know there are some honest hard working skiiers out there, but there are also a lot of rich little shit heads that have their asses wiped for them until the age of 18.
 
well i guess its a good thing you payed attention and realized that they were the mountains poles. damnit i just ruined a day of skiing for the mountain, FUCK. wait... it was closed also! fuck you kid. sucks you had your shit stolen, but dont relate this situation to yours.
 
exactly. and there are a lot of kids here on NS that pay for their own shit, and even a lot more barely making it in college...so think of that before you say everyone is rich and can just buy new skis.
 
Skiing is an EXPENSIVE sport, not a "rish" sport. If someone stole my poles, or anything, I'd be pissed off. I don;t have money to splash around BECAUSE skiing is an expensive sport. An extra $20 to spend is still and extra $20 out of my pocket that means less food, drink or trips.
 
exactly....just because you can steal something doesn't mean you should. Grow up bud, and why you would come on here to boast that to everyone, well clearly you need to do some rethinking.
 
i still dont see why everyone is making such a huge deal over rental poles, the mountain probably gets them free anyways, big deal...
 
since it was that early, i doubt anyone cared or was using those poles. But if it was during the day, thats some stupid shit you did.

I don't get why you'd steal some poles or anything during the day, even if they are rentals. I mean, come on, they belong to someone else who is out there trying to have a good time, just like you. Why go and ruin it?
 
is it acceptable to go to the lost and found section where there are hundreds of poles and grab a pair? i think not, but if they've been there for weeks....
 
why steal rental poles? get to know someone who works at the shop and they give them to you. i still do that and have been for years. if you break one, they just give you another one.
 
At my resort when I'm walking home from the bar, we go right through gondola square and there are almost always poles, skis, and shit at 2 in the morning... I don't get some people... tourists

you can just borrow poles for a day and return them, but why steal?

if someone is dumb enough to leave thier shit at the hill (skis, poles, goggs, etc etc) then they deserve to have them stolen.

my skis dont leave my sight without either A) being locked up B) in my closet at home.

that being said, i dunno if i could steal skis. it depends

poles on the other hand...im on my 6-7th set of poles and iv only payed for 1 pair.
