How come macintosh never gets spam or viruses

i heard its because hackers dont make viruses for macs... How can this be? Is there like an agreement among hackers that they all own macs so they have some mutual fraternity in which they agree not to attack the'ir own and only attack pcs? Doesnt this make apple seem vulnerable? I mean, what if a bunch of pc hackers decided to start attacking macs with spyware and viruses... i dont know maybe that will never happen.

But from my original perspective, it was something about macintosh different operating system that protected it from being hacked or catching spyware and viruses, but someone said it is because nobody? makes spam or spyware or viruses for macs. But this just doesnt make sense to me, unless hackers have some inherent hatred against pcs and use macs as a safe haven to hack from. Am I missing something? C

an anybody explain why macs are invulnerable to attacks as opposed to pc?

there are more for the PC because bill gates stole the optical interface aka "windows" from steve jobs while he was developing it. This made bill gates the richest man in the world and nearly crippled apple as a company for 20 years. There were ALOT of pissed off programmers from apple.
There's also a movie out about it.

supply and demand. There are much more PC's on the market, it is like an 80/20 breakdown, thus if you are going to invest the time into making a virus, it would make sense to make it for the platform with the biggest target base.

because the type of people that you actually want to hack aren't running Macs. nobody wants to hack a 23 year-old hipster who still lives with his mom so they can steal his shitty poetry.

it's a good question. ive always heard the same explanation, that there are simply less macs out there to target. but that only works so far.. i mean, you'd think the angry little nerds sitting in their basement writing viruses would especially hate mac users.. point being, you'd think at some point at least some viruses would be written for macs, especially as theyre only getting more common..so is there a difference in the data structure in macs that also affects this question?

Besides the inherent security of Bash? Demand. There are no large business servers or military structures running on OS X. Though they are still largely susceptible to networms and many of the more recent web2.0 and C virus structures, the fact that no one really cares about Mac in the computing world is why there are no real threats to its security.
Although I will say, it's easier to crack a Mac than a PC. Bulky packets and very little registry security.

dont fight with mods... some of them are cool, and i dont know about cobra... but some of them are rediculously not cool... so just some advice... the days of cool mods like cedric are over in my opinion... we now have jenifa as a mod... nuff said

I think somebody should make a virus just to fuck with them. If I knew anything about computers, the hipster mac army would be my first target.
