How big should my drop in be?

i have a choice of either building a 16ft rail or a 20 ft rail. do you think a 7ft drop in would get me enough speed to hit a 20 fotter in the winter?

yeah our drop in is only like 5 ft and we are getting plenty of speed and it is summer. 7 ft would be cool tho
