Thanks in advance.

nnnnnnoot a good one. it would look like shit.... so noo

15 feet minimum id say. and legit not just a pile of snow with a lip that is the ugliest jump ever.

Build it your self. Find a soft spot in the BC and build something with a smooth tranny and a healthy amount of pop. The steeper the landing the better. As long as you dont sling it I am sure you will be fine. I highly recommend avoiding the jump in that photo. good for spins, bad for flips.

It's not so much about how big it is, it's how poppy it is. A jump with a super mellow take-off like that is going to be really hard to learn on. The steeper the better for a beginner. Learn off the end of a halfpipe.

yea that jump is just not steep enough. if its more of a kicker that distance would easily be enough but that thing has no pop

That's big enough. There've been 8273497 edits with Martini, Harlaut, etc just skiing with friends before they were as big as they are now, all throwing backflips off jobs on the side of trails.

Yes poppy! Make sure you pop high! I was doing some backs a couple weeks back and broke my nose cause i came down too soon and my tips caught and last year my friend did the same thing and got a concussion.

i wish i could show you a pic/video but i dont have one, but me and my friend last year put a piece of wood up to an a frame rail so the wood was like a jump. we put snow on it and started doing backies on snowblades (we had never done a backflip before) and then we put our skis on and first try we both landed with like no air. so my answer is something that you go more high than far and it definetely doesnt have to be big at all we travelied like 2 feet.

yeah try it in back country first because there are kess consequeses build a jump or find a nice lip and make it your own make it very popy and tall

Like everyone else has said: build your own into powder or find a nice, poppy lip somewhere that just feels good.

That said - if you're motivated, you can backflip just about anything.

Learn gainers into a pool, then you know exactly how it feels. I learned when I was at school in quebec, so not much pow going on, but doing gainers first you learn to spot your landing without consequence (just don't hit the board). Also, watch the 4frnt tech tip tutorial on backies, and go huck with confidence!

yeah that's what i thought.
im gonna try it off of a hip jump or the end of a halfpipe.i have them down on water jumps so i should be fine. just the matter of finding a good jump.
thanks guys.

about 2 seconds of airtime and a decent amount of "kick" are ideal imho ....
steep sidebooters are excellent imho, especially steep stepups ....

It depends on how easily you can backflip. Some people can just whip around off of anything, some people need bigger jumps.

If u tuck you're knees i'n when you start you're rotation u can do it off almost any thing but if u don't u need lotsof air time
