How big an explosion would be needed so that my locked door would blow open?

i just got woken up by a FUCKING HUGE explosion, ground shaking and cos my door got blown open i felt the rush of air coming into my room too.

no idea what it could have been, i can't see any sign of smoke or anything cos its still dark. jus the early light of dawn.

gonna be asking my friends later on the other side of town if they felt anything.

hope this could be an interesting thread.
 
Yeah, good thing you informed the skiing community before you checked what blew your door off its hinges. It was probably a homemade bomb used as a prank.
 
well first i went to see how awake the rest of my family were hehe. o yea, my house (variable age, 300 to 900 years old) has like dust and stuff coming from the beams and loads of house alarms went off.
 
are you shure that van dam wasn't just takin a stroll in the neighborhood and decided that he wanted to kick some more doors in

i'm thinkin bout it more now. it was like.

1) my door suddenly gets pulled open though its locked and flung back on its hinges.

2) maybe .5 to 1 second later i hear the explosion and the ground shakes a lot at the same time.

3) up to like 5 seconds later i guess the noise has subsided and all i can hear is burglar alarms.
 
tv has revealed all to me. it was actually an oil depot and there are now flames 100 to 150 feet, in the air and there have been 3 smaller explosions.

they have had reports to the news station from up to 30 to 40 miles away from it.
 
How close do you live to this Oil Depot? Do they think it was terrorism or an accident? I only get gay ass MSNBC they aren't reporting anything.

some persons house exploded like maybe 2 km from my house and it shook my house, they were all fine odly enough
 
not sure precisely how far i live away, between 4 and 10 minutes drive away i guess. theres a big ass black cloud in the sky now and yea sum people have been real original and told the news they heard a plane before the explosion.
 
sposedly at least 5 of the petrol tanks used for distribution to petrol stations etc, have gone. each one of those would hold up to 3 million gallons of petrol. (eye witness reports).
 
This first one, if you look where the smoke is coming up, that is the depot. i could see flames/illumination from all the way back here.

yeah the police say it was an 'accident'. i live about 30 miles away from it and my whole house was shaking. i thought it was someone trying to break down the door so i went down with a baseball bat in my boxer shorts. that was cold.

i think its supposed to blaze at least 24 hours before it gets under control.
 
wow CNN is showing it right now, pretty itense, says 43 were injured. Im suprised that no one is known to have died yet.

i have also found out that redbourn lane is closed, the a414 is closed, the m11 is closed, the m1 is closed. i think you might be able to access hemel hempstead from the north orbital. so to summarise : hemel = almost completely sealed off. some sort of govenment contingency plan no doubt.

ye, unless you want to keep something level. you should try setting up a pooltable here. its also listed and we're not allowed to get a sattelite dish because.
 
That Definetly looks liek a gas fire, its very narrow at the bottom, and looks like a volcano
