How bad do rails hurt your skis?

this cant be a serious post

but i will answer ur quesion because i'm a good ns citizen. Depending on the material, ur edges material, and ur basses, all effect the damage dont to skis, boxes do the least amount of damage if they have a surface like teflone. Metal and wood rails will wear down and gouge edges and bases, but its the price to pay for having fun.

some skis get destroyed faster than others (yes if you hit rails say goodbye to your edges, accept it). troublemakers will last about half a year, armada's or k2's will last longer.

First word to the wise... NS is the place for asshole opionated people to communicate... Take nothing to heart...

Second to answer the question, I get some coreshots every season, rails do less damage then say rocks, but can still beat up the ski, some companies (Possible Armada) have taken the edges out of the ski in the area where you slide a rail... so as said above, it depends on ski

if you really grind down your edges under your boot area before you start railing then they wont crack as easy and may last a little longer... just alittle shotty on ice

well no company is dumb enough to actually remove the edges, but i think we all get the point. what he;s referring to is how the armada t-halls are factory detuned underfoot for smoother grinding.

haha just fuckin jib... skis are ment to be tweaked within a year and then you hit up your warrenty... specially line this year will cover anything
