How are scratches for all mountain? Pow?

ok i search barred and only found one other thread about this and it was confusing... so yeah what the title says... how are the scratches?
 
i have last years scratch fs. they are pretty awesome for park and groomers. they handle crud, moguls and ice nicely too. i cant say too much about powder. i live in ohio, but i took a trip to colorado and skiied them some shallow shin-deep powder. they seemed decent but thats the only time ive ever skiied pow so i dont have anything to compare it to.
 
yeah i realized there are a lot of different kinds of scratches right after i posted that... sorry... which ones are cheapest and how are they?
 
Scratch BCs are designed for pow, and they rock hard in the pow.

Scratch FS WRS are also excellent all mountain because they are very stiff. One of the best skis ever made. Super light.
 
whcih of all the scratches is the cheapest? because i think i want to get some good twins that are also good all mtn, but i dont want to spend a shitt load of money. i am 5 8 and like 120 pounds... i rid 151s right now and they are wayyyyyy to short
 
i just got back from sugarbush and they had a real nice storm and i was skiing knee deep powder and i had to really work for it. they would float in the less deep powder, but tey would sink quick if i slowed down or if it got too deep. all mnt, they were nice and are ok switch, they are are hard to carve switch tho. they can really ollie, so they are nice for boxes/rails
 
The cheapest are Sprayer FS's From what people have said they're super flexy and they suck, i wouldn't personally know. But that is what I heard. Dimensions 110/80/103
 
they are pretty damn sick all montain...super stable, no chatter, hold an edge really well too. obviously if you are lookin for a pure pow ski this isnt the ski for you, if you are then go for the BC, but it handles pow fine with a 84mm waist. the scratches are on the stiffer side which makes for a super solid/stable ride all over the mountain.
 
the caution tape ones are sick all mountain, they shred everywhere except in deep pow. if its champagne or light pow then they just blast trough it, the 84mm waist helps with the float. solid skis, i love them

I saw some scratch fs's for the first time in my life on Friday when I took the lift up with an exchange student from Norway.

They looked pretty thick. Then again I am sporting a pair of the '05 1260's so...
 
my friend has last years scratch fs's mounted at recomended and hes great all mtn switcn and everything and dec at pow atleast east coast pow
 
some are, but the FS's of last year did have the caution tape on them, just the regular FS's not the Sprayer FS or anything...
 
i have the 06 scratch FS and it is a great all around ski. they're decent pow skis unless you start to get into deeper snow.
 
I ride the Scratch FS 174 here in the Midwest. I am 5'8" 155lbs. They are 03/04's and have held up really well. I would recommend looking for a pair of last years FS if you are trying to save money. I would rather have those than a pair of this years sprayers. This years FS WRS are sick if you can afford 'em. If you are looking for something to kill it all mountain out west, I should try to get a pair of BC's. I spent a day on a pair of 185's last year at Squaw and they rocked. Length could be a tough decision though if you are looking for a park/powder ski.
 
i ski on the bc's and i live on the east coast, i have no problem taking them in the pipe and they kill it in the trees, the bigger sizes are a little bit harder to ride the trails with but i would definately recomend them
 
get a pair of last years scratch fs (caution tapers) in around a 174, mount it like 2 back from true center. It will be good in everything. I ride the 181 and it is just an awesome all around ski. I have other pairs of skis yet I just love riding scratches cause they are poppy, responsive as hell, and solid performing.

Also, you should be able to find a good deal on these. They were on a certain internet site for super cheap recently, and some of the shops in my town have like palletes of scratch fs from last year they can't sell.
