How are conditions at Killington’s opening weekend 10/18?

Anyone know how the conditions usually are at Killington’s opening weekend? I’m wondering if it’s worth going, and if the lines get slammed. I’ve got the Icon so realistically I’m going either way but just curious about how it’s gonna be

Never actually gone but I watch the cams daily at most resorts before they even open and I check multiple times a day ?

seems like they only get a few runs open but looks like good skiing and I don’t see many people on cams

I’ve thought of going but not using up my days that early before it’s opened and it’s a 10 hr drive so when I go there I’ll go several other places

I basically have the same question about a basin

First day is passholders only usually. Park will usually be the best you can get that time of year, other runs will probably bump up fast.

New quad chair this year, lines will probably be shorter but trail will be more crowded

Conditions will be ass, but its fun. Havent been in a few years but theres a horrible staircase you'll have to take. The run down is fun to rip when it gets bumpy though, weekdays are ideal too I imagine.

Slammed, icy, really skied off by the end of the day. But I’m always just happy to be back skiing. Usually have one or two small rails in for the first couple days and then a decent rail garden by the end of the first week. Such a good time being around people who are so stoked to be back skiing. However, not as many jerries as you would expect, which is a plus

this will be my eigth year skiing early season at killi. Vibes are killer. Don’t mean to sound like a grandpa but it’s probably the most concentrated event of skiers and snowboarders using actually decent park etiquette. Whatever feature, typically a down tube becomes the main feature with a hike line on either side will often have some exposed grass on the landing. Hoping this year with that woodward money they have more features set up opening weekend but if it’s similar to the past few years, I’ll be satisfied.
