What's up everybody, been a long time since Ive logged in but I've still been checking the site regularly.. anyway I'm trying to figure out a way to spend the winter in tahoe, hopefully alpine meadows/squaw for the winter, and I'm having trouble finding housing

So if anyone can give me a hint or something that'd be great. ive obviously tried craigslist but no luck so far. thanks a lot

tahoe city is ideal, lots of rental agencies do ski leases around there. call around to them and see what the deal is, I know plenty of young people who have rented through the local real estate agencies.

right now it looks like ill probably be taking a job at alpine meadows, and i only have a 97 volvo sedan that isnt great in the snow.. do you think it would pose potential problems if i live in tahoe city and have to commute to alpine every day (by a reasonable hour.. i think it starts at 8 each morning i would guess)?

thanks for the answer man, appreciate it

yes and no. I got stuck in my driveway a handful of days going in a similar little volvo. My roomates worked there so I got rides everytime... you may not be so lucky, however a lot of people working at the mountains take the bus system or hitch, it's pretty common to hitch.

pardon my west coast ignorance..but would bus system be dependable even on snowy days? i would love to hear that i can live in tahoe city cause the housing seems much more plentiful but i dont want to not be sure i can be at work without fail..

thanks bro

I've never used it but it seems to be decent... and a lot of employees rely on it. I'm sure someone on here has used the bus system before and could speak to that. I've hitched when my car/friends can't get me places, far more legit than most places.

good, good... keep the answers coming everyone it's much appreciated. im about to book a quick trip out there next week with my frequent flyer miles to check out the scene so i really appreciate all the input i can get

thanks a lot dudes

dude, we have a cabin (oldest house in alpine meadows) that is pretty mellow, and my family never uses it, so PM me with the timeframe and well see if we can get you ballin in this place. Ill have to run it by the extended family, but im sure they'd love a 6 month lease on the thing.
