Hours on instead of post counts

Imagine if next to the post counts on the forums there could be an hour on ns counter. the members that post a lot more get more respect but there are many people that are on just as long and often that dont get as much respect because they dont post often.

Wait. So you're saying, that the people that don't contribute to discussions should be given the same amount of respect as people that float around the messageboards absorbing everything they read without asking questions?

Plus I know for a fact that there are a number of people that don't want to see the brutal honesty of how long they actually are on here...myself included...

why does it really matter. the knowledgable, funny, and intelligent people have a tendency to get recognized regardless of the date they joined or their post count or hours they spend on NS. Any system we derive to show seniority will undoubtedly have some flaw.

The people who make useful posts get respect. And at least to me, useful posts is more important than hours spent on the forums.

^I agree....plus soem people could just leave it up all day and go otu and do somethign else if they really wanted to get respect

Yeah this whole thing about only giving respect to people with 1000+ post counts or whatever seems a little rediculous BUT high post counts are what everyone aspires to have so i guess thats just how it is.

you could rig it ... i mean all you have to do is keep a ns page up all day with you signed in......

its a neat idea but I dont think thats its really necessary, im sure people could find a way around it.

i agree...i am on here so MUCh but i dont post a lot cause i wait for thougough and good answers

i think it would be cool to see how long im on compared to others. so yea i think both are needed aswell

who would want to find a way around that?

actually good call.. thats like saying who would post whore to get there count up.
