100% my feelings on this. I'll never get pissed at someone who snakes me if they are in the middle of a hot lap. Someone bombing the park will always have the right of way to the people who are hiking and lining up.
Skiierman you're pretty much a piece of shit. However, I see much of what you're saying except you're like some extremist emo guy that hates "mainstream" stuff. But on a better note, you don't allow the hot lappers to lap, since I basically always hotlap
You'll notice a correlation between those that hate me and their lack of intelligence. I think the post above this reinforces this hypothesis... but hey, 15-year-old boys are the hottest so they have the final say in all this.
I watched a line of like 12 snowboarders pile onto each other at Northstar the other day on the very first flat box in the early season park. I was about to film my friend blast the whole flat box and tranny find the end but he would have killed at least 3 of them, so he went on ahead and I filmed the pile up happen, pretty god damn hilarious.
Of course there's nothing wrong with hot lapping, it fucking says so in the skiing "rules", of course if you drop in after somebody else does who looks uphill to start your "hot lap" then it's a different story
yeah i cant even lie i always drop within seconds of cruising up to the park no matter the group at the top. I figure a couple things when I do it. First, ive been in the game awhile and ive waited my turn to have the confidence to go at the moment i have a sliver of an opportunity, and second I figure a bunch of the little joneses are there to watch and sit around so fuck em if i make them wait
I'm not some jackass gaper with no consideration of anyone else but myself... I'll def. have a spotter on the knuck of the 15ft. jump they've got set up.
Skiierman is right people. Ever read the signage on a big jumpline? Using spotters is a good idea, especially if you have no visibility of people skiing away from the line. However, in most parks, you can see someone ski away from the line at some point, so if you aren't using a spotter, at least wait until the last person who dropped has skied away from the landing of the first jump or two before you drop.
