Hot dogger cable covers hinder performance??

I'm about to buy my first pair of FTs and have been told that is the truth.

Sure it's supa fly and helps keep them "organized", but if you take it off the cables get a better/more snug fit into the boot. Makes sense to me

I own a pair of all red hot doggers from before the wally shoe tongue shiz and have ridden the boots with and without the cable covers.

Without the covers the boot did feel a little tighter and more rigid, but I could distinctively feel each cable as a minute pressure point.

The cable cover seems to disperse the pressure of the cables a little better and help them flex freely. If you're looking for an all mt charger maybe they have an effect. But in my opinion, the cable covers give a bit of a smoother ride for park shredding.
