apperently this year its actually happening. super pipe, park pass, new rails, a park staff (what?!) they had a booth at the ski show with a list of the new stuff. new rails and all that. apperently its cause of these new owners. anyway it seems legit, but we will see what happens.

Yeah. there's some cunt there called Martin. He's a jackass, and is in charge of the hill operations. Finally someone told him to fuck off.

They had park staff last year, a snowboarder named Matt, kind of chubby, goatee, and some other dude. but they have no idea what they are doing. you can't have good features without someone who knows how to build them.

ya tim i was talkin to that guy it should be sick if everything that he said happens

plus a jib jam on the opening day is gonna be sick

just for the recoord, matt and ryan do know what they are doing in terms of building. its just martin and mgmt wouldent let them do anything the way they wanted it.

im on park staff there this winter, and have been an employee there for the last 2 seasons. they cut a new run inbetween roundup and horsefly hop, to make room for the 10 new jibs, all the old ones have been tidyed up. the entire park is sponcered by salomon and bonfire. $8 park pass, helmets mandatory.

ive got a staff meeting next weekend, ill post anything else that i forgot to mention then.

are you fucking kidding me?

Have you seen the way they set up their rails? Try skiing at Blue or Louis, and you'll notice that rails aren't supposed to be ride-on.

Also, did you ever see the fucking tree jib they tried last year? It was the lousiest thing I have seen in my life. they tried to have you hit a tree off a 15 degree ramp.

A couple of times, when someone else is running a competition here, they'll build something decent based on the other person's input

easy big fella.

who cares anyway, it was last year. this year is going to be dope.

go ahead and hate because im a respectful employee, but shit is changing at horseshoe this winter.

Haha I ain't all that big, but you have to admit, Matt is not good at what he does.

One of the groomers is awesome, Paul something or other, the landscaper. He's creative and receptive to ideas. He's one of the Horseshoe staff I really like. Him, the general manager and that girl who runs the cafe in the summer.

i figure, ill ride louis again this year. if horseshoe somehow pulls something half decent out of their ass then maybe next year i will see how it goes.

andy man no hate directly on you. but they hired how many NEW parkstaff? without any experience? everyones gotta start somewhere but when the majority of your team doesnt have experience im gunna be a little skeptical.

oh and any word on if they are gunna be improving the checking for tickets? cause i didnt buy one all last year and i probably wont this year.

naw tim it isnt like that at all dude, im the only skiier and the only"staff noob" per say...all of the other guys are like 20+ and have been shredding for a long time and know the way shit needs to be done,i cant remeber all teh nams, right now, but, theyve got smolik, andrew rusk, blair..?, steve powling,
those are the only names i can remember right now. there is 8 park staff in total this winterbut all they guys know what it takes to have the park in the right shape.

im a skeptic dude. ive been let down by horseshoe too many times. we will see though.

i heard about a tow rope on the edge of the pipe this year? thats defenetly a sick idea though.

it was pretty good for second day i was stokedd, the butter box was mad funn, btw i was the kid white helmet and brown plaid outfit

So you are the only skier park staff, which makes you the kid who was there the past couple days. Just a question, but are they not making you guys wear helmets? Ima have a talk with Matt, because that's a bit messed up and hypocritical. Also, why the fuck would Matt put a jump with a landing that extends to the drop in area for the pipe. You are telling me he cleaned his shit up? I don't fucking think so. That guy has no idea what he is doing, and neither do you apparently. Since you're the only skier, that would also make you the guy standing there while that kid broke his wrist the other day. So, you're standing with the other noobs waiting to drop in, and someone is sitting down on the landing, and my and my two buddies are running up to help him, and you let someone else hit the jump?

Seriously. Oh, and being park staff and all, what do you guys do? Anything? Because I haven't seen you guys try to fix any of the inruns, or try to break up the landings that have been iced over by snowboarders doing their little pivot/sweep to slow down as soon as they land.

Honestly?

Well, here's the deal. Matt has to go. It's his responsibility to give you guys a little guidance, and his responsibility to make sure the park is safe and fun. He fails on both counts.

horseshoes setup as of Dec28

DownRail Cbox(Really shitty setup) tiny sorta jump/roller thing??

DownFlatRail jump (40 or a 50) tiny flat bar

DownFlatDownRail Spine tiny flat box

i love how they even made flags on the road into the parking lot that say "new terrain park" and "new half pipe".

how many hacks got let down by that...

Ron JOn Jib Jam Jan. 10 at horseshoe. heard they are tearing down the park and totaly rebuilding it for the comp on saturday.

New Press Boxes also gonna be so Steeze!

flatdownflat press box, flatdown press box, flat press box!

And horseshoes park has def. stepped up there game this year but comparing it to louis or blue they got nothing but the park staff has down a great job this year so far i was really impressed with the 50ft jump they had.!

Kent where the fuck have you been?? Honestly.

Jeez. I've already gotten in like 20 days of skiing.

p.s. to A.R. if you read this: You guys need to move your landings further downhill on the rails. Right now they are set up so that if you actually slide the whole rail, by the time you come off the landing is finished. The landing shouldn't start at the end of the rail, it should start a couple feet after the end.

adrian ive been at the louis all break i think ive almost gotten in 30 days so far. i think ill come to the heights on sunday because the park at horseshoe will be closed today for a comp i think...

I might be up next weekend. I'm taking the girl to Montreal for the weekend the one after, so hopefully I'll make it up for this one coming up.

Well they actaully have a very smooth jump, they claim its a 52 or such i think that its about 35-40 but it is definatly really nice. Everything is set up pretty nicely but they just dont have the best features. As of the weekend they had:

Flat box Culvert - Flatdown box Metal tube thing - Flat rail Down flat rail - Down flat down rail Down flat down box - Picnic table box Roller

waY TO be there today!

Shoot.

Well, I am there tomorrow, as well we'll be heading over to horseshoe to take some pictographs.

So be there, or be square!

i dont think that jump really is 50 feet. so im going to bring a measuring tape and find out!
