what makes a horse ugly the one in the pics section looks pretty sweet. skibrdingbitch says its fucken ugly. whats a cool horse look like?

im just curious and wanna see a cool lookin horse

a horse has good looks. if it has good conformation... meaning straight legs. walks straight. has a nice ass, tail set, back neck and head. its just an overal apperance. and different breeds of horses look different. like dogs.

and angelica doesnt like my horse probably because shes used to getting the most expencive horses given to her. my horse is only 15 hands high. but he does what i like. and what he enjoys as well. he wins showmanhip and places high in halter classes.. so her saying that my horse is ugly or whatever is comming from an untrained eyes persepective on the breed that my horse is (quarter horse). She may not like his looks but thats up to her. I like him the way he is. and so do the judges. thats what matters to me. not her oppinion. i dont get things handed to me like she does. i work hard for what i ahve. and when i ahve it. i do my best with it. and im happy.

ya it was my own opion, personaly i find 1/4 horses to be ugly.. i am glad you like him tho. and i don't get shit handed to me, i payed for my horse. so don't say that i don't do shit, i love my horse! and i personaly think my horse is very pretty. he is almost 17 hands and fames up really nicely. he tucks his head really well and has a great gate. he has a really high, muscular behind cause he squares up really well. the one problem is that he has a pretty small head compared to his body. but i love him, and the man that tryed him this morning loved him too

I luv 1/4 horses i wish i was shorter so i could still fit them nicely!! I have a 17.2 westphailan TB gelding who just turned 11. My horse was winning line classes as a baby and could still win them if he didnt pop a splint a few months ago. But hes a big and bony what all the hunter judges like. Hes as consistent as anything and in the hunter ring is a major plus. he is beyound well propotioned and is a 10+ mover. Always jumps square and just goes to anything. We have one of thos eplastic kids pools at my barn and we filled it with water and put it under and oxer and he jumped it like it was nothing.

I feel like im writing a sale ad for my horse so im done!

first off. i resent that, im not ritch, my rents help me pay for my horse but i pay for alot of him myself. he costs around 500 a month. and when i show its usually 100 dollars a show. so its expensive and no my horse my rents bought for me for my birthday a year ago. he was 2500, and untrained so hes learned everything from my training. now hes worth 7 or 8 grand

i hate horses they wrecked my life, My whole familly rides horses excpet for me, i have no interest what so ever, they cost a lot, they cost a lot to feed and thier dumb, we have about 15 of them. If we didn't have horses i could be living such a better life, they cost 20,000 and up for a good one.

ya they cost alot more than $100, for the last show for our 2 horses it was well over 1 grand. and most good horses are over 20 grand like powder said. with the horse show cost, it matters on how many class you are in, how many daysyour there, how many stalls, golfcarts, hotels, grooming, training, turnout, ect....

my shows we dont get golfcarts, turn out, grooming,

for entry fees: divisions, stall, admin fees and most divisions cost $100+

and then i pay my coach for coaching/vanning/day care

it costs me usually that much only because i dont stay overnight. i see no point in putting the horse through stress when i can easily ship home. and rodeo's dont cost much and i dont compete in a jumper with beau so. its cheeper.

and good 'a circuit hunter /jumper ' horses are worth 20 g plus. doesnt mean a good horse of another disipline cant be cheeper. thats just a stereotype.

the horse shows i goto are over night, like my last horse show was 9 hours away. so we kept our horses there for 2 weeks, they get turned out every day, and the get ridden every day, it is not very stressful on them. other fees are: braiding with is $100 just for the main and 50 for the tail, but we never do tails unless you goto palm beach or have a pony in the classic. it costs alot to just trailer your horse down to the show too. for the outdoor a shows they have golf carts, they are like 50 dollars a day. and i have a pro rider, david beisel, ride my horse during the days i am not at the show, for him it is 25 dollars every time he rides. so all in all it costs alot of money to goto a horse show.

ya a horse doesn't haff to cost 20 grand to be great, my trainer found a pack horse/ large pony, got it for like 1 grand and the pony was worth like 150 grand, number 1 pony in the country like 2 years ago. both of my horses were over 20 grand. but we also drove 9 hours down to virgina to look for both our horses, so we put in alot of effort into finding 2 great horses...

$100 bucks for a mane?? WTF?? My friend and I braid for our barn and another barn and we charge 30/mane and thats expensive up here. And i braid my own now.

OUr horses stay at the show grounds all the days that they are showing and we have NO turnout at any of our show grounds up here. Its unheard of, u want your horse turned out you take him home if not you ride twice a day.

I show over 3-4 days and my horse stays there all the days that i show.

All I have to say is that Im glad im not showing the in the states this year. i was supposed to hit the indoor circuit in the spring but that never panned out thank GOD!!

ya, but at the A sows, we get them pro. done. so they look right, no offense, but the pros do a much better jod then ne rider i have seen. they just make them tighter, and neater. no offense

What I dont get is why ppl shoot their horses after they break a leg. My freinds g/f owns a lot of horses and she says they do it because they are not of any value that way. Still horses seem to have 'personality,' I dont think I could kill a horse, why no just help it get better?

Big willy, its very hard to fix a broken leg on a horse, there very big and you can't tell them to stay off there leg like you would to a humane. Also they don't have health insurance so it costs a shit load of money, they have to go to a special surgery. Its ussually just not worth the pain and the money

um there was this inicident where a guy was trailering his horse home from a show and the floorboards broke and he didnt realize and he dragged his horse home. on the hiway, and didnt realize why ppl were hoking their horns.. well yeah poor horse had no front legs left at all.. how horrible.

and another time. this happened in the us. some dumbass personl decided to leave the windows open to his 4 horse slant load and two horses had their heads out on the freeway, or 'interstate' and a transport truck came tpp close and the horses lost their heads..... i would die if my horse died or had that happen to him.

as well... hunn, 100 dollars a mane is INSANE i could be competing at the world show this fall for Aqha, i think its in oklahoma, and then the All American Quarter horse Congress, and both those shows areway more 'higer class' than ANY A rated show in North america, and you would never ever hear of someone charging that much... and we have our manes tight and small here too. so your getting over charged

haha i heard they were really good to eat. but i have never tried. to be honest, if i was offered i probably would. because people do eat it. and i mean to some peaople in eastern countries eating cow is as unheard of to them as eating horses is to use westerners.

ya but hun 100 bucks is CRAZY!! I dont know how long it takes them but for me to do a normal mane of 45 braids it takes about 60 mins. Could you image making 100/hr braid 3 horses and Ud be set... braid 3 horses every day of a 5 day show!??!?!?!?!
