Horror movie rant

I have noticed that in the last four years or so most horror movies have sucked ass, and have not been good at all. this really disapoints me because they are my favorite genre of movies. I swear that the movie industry makes horror movies for 13 year old girls. since movies have been around there have been horror movies, the house of the fallen usher to the exorcist, and great slasher films even tho they can be cheesey they are still good like friday the 13th, nightmare on elmstreet, halloween, hellraiser, ect. these movies were all great and original they had a twist that nothing else did that made them enjoyable.
but now with our current pop culture we get horror movies about fucking plants that talk to eachother to kill us, or a terrible pg 13 movie that would have had some potentail if it wasnt aimed toward 8th graders who go on dates with there mom sitting behind them. Seriously this shit is fucked. Why does a amazing genre have to be sliced and diced to be no more better than meet the spartans. I see all these movies like the unborn or the uninvited even that homo 3d movie and I know that i will not see them in theaters because it will just waste my money. we need someone in this day in age with a fucked up mind to create these movies and bring real horror back, I know that sounds fucked up but it is true. Micheal Bay needs to leave the genre alone and go do something with speacial effects. people like the ring need to give up while they are behind. and M night shamalon needs to stop making his movies half harted and put some time into the script. My buddy and I made up this awesome horror movie idea today but it would be to scarry for our watchers.
And parents stop letting jr go to these R rated movies when he is only 11 1/2.

and that is what grinds my gears

the only horror movie ive truly enjoyed in th elast few years was 28 days later. then they ripped it to pieces with the sequel, which ate cock hard

they made a House of the Fallen Usher movie!? I just read that in english and it was awesome. I need to see this.

word on 28 days later, post apocolyptic(sp?) movies are tops in my book, i defiantly agree with the fact of these silly 'horror' movies, i'd like something that genuinly scares me.

i love how horror movies of recent memory have like 10 minute long sex scenes in them.... yeah, we are running from some crazy dude that wants to slice our heads off, but, i still have some time to stick it in this girl i am with.

and the post apocalyptic movies need to stop copying the Mad Max series and Escape from New York. 28 days later did a pretty good job but Doomsday..... holy crap, its like a mix of Beyond Thunderdome and Escape from New York.

i just realized that the last movie that really scared the holy hell out of me (and im embarassed to say this) was ET when i saw it at like 4 years old. i had nightmares about that damn movie. i am 20 now.

haha. you have some good points but idk. First off, its kind of silly to apply this rant to horror movies. I mean, sure you could complain about how older movies were better and now they just seem to constantly pop out crappy sequels and remakes. You could complain about how movies lack any good plots now, are filmed entirely in front of green screens, and how real actors are being replaced by Justin Timberlake and the Rock.

But come on, horror movies have always been cheasy and crappy. No movie buff would be like "friday the 13th, great movie" No, this was a cheap crappy movie with a lame plot, terrible effects (even for the time), and shitty actors meant to scare 11 year olds in the innapropriate theater and preteens on dates. This might be entertaining, but lacks any substance.

How can you even compare those shitty horror movies to M. Knight Shamylan's movies. Sure, the happening was pretty lame. But come on, girl taking out a hair pin and repeatedly stabbing herself in the neck. A bunch of construction workers running off a building. Sounds pretty sick to me. Movie really wasn't that bad. And this was the worst of his movies. The sixth sense, the village, whatever else he did that was good and i can't remember, thats some legit stuff.

However i do agree with you that there are so many shitty horror movies out. Disturbia, this valentine's day slasher movie I see commercials for: obviously thats cheap shit for stupid preteen girls who jump when they see a mouse which is probably smarter than them.

And yea, the exorcist was good.

M Knight Shamalalalalayan was pretty much always terrible. All of his movies have stupid plot holes. 6th sense was entertaining though. So was Unbreakable but was that him? It seems like one of his movies.

High Tension is a french horror movie thats really good and came out fairly recently. Worth checking out. Just saw Unborn and that was terrible but the chick was super hot in a megan fox sort of way and theres one shot with probably the most obvious camel toe ever on film.

Apparently they're remaking Last House on the Left but last time I checked that movie was just a bunch of rape scenes and the new one doesn't look like that.
