A 3 day ski camp is coming to Minnesota! Mike approached me with this idea this summer and is stoked on it. Dec 30,31 and Jan 1st. Coaches confirmed Mike Hornbeck, Ahmet Dadali, myself and maybe a couple more special guests. The idea behind this camp is serious rail progression and stomping small technical jumps. Right at Day 1 we will see where you're at and get you on some progression suited for you! The day will consist of some skating, foam pit, rails skiing, jumping, games and contests. Lunch will be included each day. The final day will blow your mind. Amateur and Open Class Summit jam with our new scoring system. You will know right where you stand after every run you take! Prizes at this jam include skis and other gear from Armada, hoodies from Jiberish and much more! Our amateur and open class winner will not only get hooked up with some fresh new gear but get to spend an extra day on an urban trip with Mike and Ahmet! You gotta love Minnesota!! Camp cost is $175- purchase a 2011 ski from us between now and Dec 20th and camp cost is $125 (70 spots available).....

What Nybora does for skiing is truly awesome. What they do for rail jams is truly awful. I used to do Nybora rail jams. $30 plus a $38 lift ticket = $68. Gets you three runs and last place... hell if you get first you barely get your money back
Hornbeck camp gets you 3 days of riding with the best two rail skiers in the game. Private access to your own rope tow, t-shirt indoor, swag, skatepark, lunch. Our rail jam will give you hours of riding, cash, armada skis, jiberish hoodies a chance to go session urban with the best! I will talk with Nybora. Just has to get that out.

The reason kids would chose the Nybora comp is so they can earn points go to JO's and miss a week of school to got Steamboat. The reason why the comps are the way they are is because of they are through USSA and most of the money goes to them. However I don't think the Nybora rail jam will conflict. It usually starts at 6.

sorry i get so worked over Nybora and rail jams. I definitely understand if it's needed to earn points. We are going to host this event early so should be plenty of time to do both. You will also be required to attend the camp to be in the rail jam the last day.

Nybora is great, so sick, the best even along with the duluth program its amazing to see what it has done for skiing over the years and the way the midwest has impacted and in most instances dominated the competition in that showcase nationwide. But. ...if its just a rail jam your missing there will be other ways to get your points. I would have to think it would be more beneficial getting the instructing an experience at the Summit camp, and weighing your chances of collecting more points later in the season at another comp.

I wasn't trying to start a fight over which event is better. I just hate it when two events that a lot of people want to go to conflict. They way its looking now is that it is doable to attend both. I would just hate for some of the younger nybora kids to not go to the camp (which is ridiculously sick btw) because they feel they have to go to the nybora comp, which after paying for team fees most parents want their kids to go to.

now that i think about it...it is really cool that there is so many options at this point for skiing around here. What Nybora does is amazing for the Twin Cities freeskiing community, and Mikes camp will be sick as can be too. Its great that there is a conflict with "what skiing event to choose" that honestly is a great problem to have! Cant say that every community supports skiing that way.

This sounds so awesome!!! Maybe I'll enroll in the camp if Mike and Ahmet are the instructors haha. Lets see if you can teach this old broad some new tricks!?!

Couldn't have said it better. Having done Nybora for a couple years, I gotta say it's an amazing program that gets so many kids stoked on skiing. The Hornbeck camp sounds ridiculous as well and it's sick to see a camp like that being offered to kids right here in MN.

we do not provide lodging, however we will pick you up and taker you back each day. I recommend red roof inn right off 94. It's the cheapest hotel around.

okay, i'm for sure going. how do we sign up? do we call that number? or is there a place on your website for me to sign up on?

Wallride is on the back of the building over the door. Scariest/sketchiest feature i have hit/helped build. And the CBox is new along with a couple new htings

If I wasn't going to be in Colorado for a couple weeks I'd seriously consider driving up for this from Indiana. Sounds so sick.
