yea its boyne tho. its not even worth it. the tables are shit, the park is flat, and their rails areant even worth mentioning. goto friday night fights at nubs.

At this point the Hoot will be using the park in place from boyne but all decisions are made by the brothers to rework it or possibly not use it at all like as in the past. We will be up at boyne 1 week before working the course to their liking. any other questions comments

the last two years, its sucked ass. flat landing very small jumps and way too hard for speed. they need to put it on a different hill and learn how to make a good jump bigger than 15ft.

fuck the hoot-n-anny that comp has sucked the last three two i've gone. unless i see some pictures of a good setup this year then i'm not going. it's just a junkshow anyways

whats with all the negative energy. why not show up and check out this year. the schrabs are calling all the shots. check out the hoot tour sun the 19 we will be in the detroit area. and southern michigan we have toured today everyone is excited about the hoot

We have been restricted to that hill and for other reasons in the past. We have heard from boyne this year that alot of cash will be spent on the whole terrain park this year. Has anyone seen it? I will be there personally today to check out early season progress. The year it was moved to a different hill it was too steep.

who cares how much they spend move it to a steeper hill they could spend a million on snow guns and shit but still not have enough speed to hit the stuff

T-parks in the midwest cannot be too steep, you just have to build trannies to the rails and jumps.

Our park at MM is super steep, That way we don't worry about speed for our 60+ footers.

I will most likely be there for the hoot, And I will hope for a better park than last season.

you say a reason to come check it out is because the schrabs are callin the shots? The schrabs have always managed to do a terrible job at designing and running a competition. I've been to two of the last 3 hoot en anys, and theres always hype about how sick it's guna be, and it never turns out that way. if you want people to show up this year, you need to give pics of the park, it's not hard at all to take pictures and post them on here. people aren't going to just drive hours to 'check out the park' if the parks guna be shitty.

All I want to do is partake actively within the process of genius work known as FARP

i total agree. if the schrabs did the park before, then they suck at making parks. post some pics of your shity park before so people dont have to drive all that way to be disapointed. thanks

Last years slopestyle run was a total joke. There was like 15 little 15' tables, all gay. The rails had a really sketchy set up, and everything was slow as hell. You cant tell us to 'come check it out' b/c most of us on this site have already done that two of the last three years, and we were dissapointed. Also, the slopestyle course wasnt even 'done' untill teh morning of the comp. If you want a good turn out, you need to be properly prepared. Have the slope course set up by Thurs night. Have pics on here and midwestskier.com, if youve ever heard of it. And have the course be open to ride on friday. Running a decent competition isnt hard, just be prepared.

The course this year will not be in the terrain park! It will be on the front of the hill on a steeper run. North McClouth I'll try to get the course photo's up on here. by Feb 23

The Hoot is only a two day event the friday before is a press day and practice day. The comp starts sat morning 10:30 and runs all day with the elusive redbull bonfire to follow and finals are on sunday morning to finish up. Make sure you are there early on sat for registration and competitors meeting though.

I've been to a lot of comps the last couple of years and one thing is clear, there is no consistentcy in the making of the jumps. There does not seem to be any standards or requirements. It all depends on who is doing the building. One thing is clear that all competitors have to deal with the same good or shitty conditions. It's to bad that guys seem to whine and blame the conditions or lack of rather then focus on giving their best effort. If you didn't do well or screwed up, don't blame the guys who built the jump or find any other lame excuse, just admit the fact that you weren't good enough that day and the next time you may be. Unless you're competing in a pro-comp building of jumps is an inexact science. All competitors in a comp have to deal with the same conditions and the good ones, win or lose, are the ones that make the adjustment and don't piss and mone about it.

The Hoot en Anny is moving to the front of the hill North McClouth. Steeper for those concerned. Also shorter two maybe three jumps with multiple options and a few rails on the bottom

i would like to come up for the Hoot.... but i dunno if it will be worht a 12 hour drive... if the contest could be shitty. and plus i have a comp the weekend before, and prolly won't have money.

'Atlantaski, you are way bad at life.' - AD1080

haha. that is so true!

thats sick if the park was moved to North McClouth id go anyways i'l allways support my local hill

boyne has some new rails this year what did they do with that huge pile of snow that was right in front of the pipe

They turned that pile into a hip, its about 25 feet tall with about a 20 foot gap.. its on the left when you exit the pipe up that hill beside the park. Its pretty sweet but you need a ton of speed to clear it, basically bomb the top of the pipe.

I might, it depends if i get my new tweaks in the mail, mine were stolen from mountain last thursday. I guss I could always show up and rock the Atomic downhill skis. We'll see. Just look for a guy with Oakley wisdoms with a snow camo strap.

THANK YOU for moving it to a steeper run. Now you can definately count on me coming, along with all the MM crew. Keep us updated with more info

The Hoot is gonna be cool and for competitors sat night after prelims Redbull is throwing a competitor bbq out in the woods with a bonfire eats fire music and redbulls free for competitors then sunday finals alot of prizes

All abilities and ages the oldest was 22 and the youngest was 7 guys girls. Usually someone gets picked out by reps and gets sponsored for next years season.

we are 27 days away from the 6 annual Hoot en Anny you can reserve your spots at nascentorbits.com course picture for those interested should be availible by feb 24th

Check out a sketch of the Hoot-En-Anny course! Go to Media, Pictures, Misc, Hoot-En-Anny.

This is all tenative but. . .

first rail is the down kink. 15ft flat to 20ft down kink. Has the sweet disaster option.

The middle element will be as large as possible. How big a gap to landing would you like your big jump, 45, 55feet? It will be a v. smooth transition to about 7-10 ft. tall. Middle jump will also be sweetly shaped and bout 20-25 ft from the landing. A small kicker may also be plopped near the knoll for mini-big-air.

We are thinking about a special up-rail-jump. like jump to incline 20ft flat rail to 15ft gap to landing type of thing. . .and ?'s? opinions?

The last element will be some kind of cool box with rails and jumps, with a few ways of hitting the thing.

No front-flips or back-flips will be allowed! The big insurance man wont yet have it! If we all just stick to new school guns and lingo, then mistys, rodeos, off-axis and the like will fly.

If you ask, 'Are flips allowed?' the answer is, 'NO'. Don't ask loudly about flips or inverts as those terms scare the locals, ya know? At the Rodeo slopestyle in Wisconsin this year, about half the field sported their spun up styles without ever doing an invert.

Spread the word that Hoot-En-Anny is going down, everybody should come, and all you hot guys who know jibbin women, let them know!! The course will be just right for all abilities!!

'How big a gap to landing would you like your big jump, 45, 55feet?'

as big as you can get speed for. 60+ would sweet

hey hay nikka the hoot sucks from what i remember but they ppay cash and if you dont like it dont go just kidding it really does suck but what else is there to do is there going to be liquor at this bbq because that would make this event the shit i could get drunk and act a fool fuck ya thank you

ANY WAY possible you could make this two 35-40 footer tables linked together????? I think with the down kink, 2 tables, and then more rails would be perfect. With just one jump, its going to turn into a big air with a rail or two. Trust me on that one, 2 tables will definatley pick out the better riders from the huckers (theres a lot of them in michigan). So any way to make it two tables would be the bomb diggity.
