hey so im planning on skiing the public park this summer, but i heard that its gonna be smaller or in a different place or something. does anyone have some more info about this? and also when would the best time to come be?

I talked to a guy on the Timberline park crew and he said that all that is changing is the location, it is still going to be super sick.

is it possibly to ski the park still in august?

I'm frome europe and wanna do a trip to the us in the summer, so is anyone here who may explane me the difference between this public park and the windells camp?

Public park is the park that anyone with a lift ticket can ride and the windells park is one that you have to be in the camp or affiliated with it to be able to ride

I'm planning a trip out to Hood. Couple quick questions. About how much is a summer pass to Timberline? Is that the best place for summer park on Hood? And is it possible to camp in the woods near the lodge, like would they give you the boot or just let you be? Thanks.

Like $800. Only place for summer park, in the country. Interesting question, I wonder if you could just pitch a tent on the mountain. But there are probably restrictions. It would be better anyway to Camp at an approved campsite nearby to Hood, of course transportation might be an issue.

okay, thanks.

pherhaps anyone could give me some further info:

how big is this public park and what would the lift ticket cost per day?

is the public park and the lift still open in august or isn't there snow any more?

Lift tickets will be about $45 a day. The lift is open in august and the park was still pretty fun this past august. It was pretty sizable, about 35 up to i think around 60 foot tables, and a bunch of sick rails

when is the summer park gonna be built? anything decent sized to ride up there late may early june?

last year i was up there from end of may sometime to june 3rd and they had the summer park open. and if you plan it right you can buy the spring pass for like 100 dollars and ski in the summer park untill the summer passes start being sold

so im either going up around late may-early to mid june, or after july 17th, so what would be the best time to go between those two?

Summer park will be open by june 1. come anytime in june or early july to get the most features. shoot for after june 15 for better weather and more hottie racer chicks in town.

spring passes end may 26th according to the site, i was planning on coming out for the last week of it cause of the 99 pass. will they still have the spring park over below treeline or will it be moved up on the glacier for summer then? oh, and if it's moved will the jumps be decent sized?(i remember in the past things had been mediochre in the public park pre-snow jam)

The lower parks and pipe on Normans will be open until may 26, then be moved up to the mile. Our goal is to have the transition between the lower park and the mile park from may 27-June 1st. We will have features open during those days up on the mile, but will probably be adding stuff every day. So if there are any days not to come, I'd avoid May 27-31. After that the upper park should be pretty much dialed and good to go. And yes I hope to have some larger jumps up there, but nothing hugemonguss, (that's my new word)

Depending on what the snow does we'll be in the Otto Lang park a week or two into July. Keep in mind the last time we had this much snow down low, we ran some of our lower mtn lifts on the 4rth. That same year it also dumps 2 feet at the lodge on july 6th. So just see how the weather plays out, but at very least we'll have 18 foot pipe, tons of jibs and some decent tables to play on into July.
