Hoodie Allen: PEP RALLY!

I'm a fan...people assume so much about who he's trying to appeal to and what he does. Some of his lyrics have some good substance, and he has a lot of clever puns. It's a new style of hip hop that's coming out and for me it's really enjoyable to listen to. It combines the elements of freestyling that came out of the 80s and 90s and puts them to newschool beats. Really fun music. I feel like we need more of that.

how effing amazing are the beats? i mean sure someone can take a passion pit sample (cough cough chiddy cough) and speed it up..wow some beat. hoodie def has some solid people working behind him though and that's really gonna help push him farther than some whack mediocre crap.

who are you or anyone to determine what is good and what isn't? It's all about musical preference and style. If you don't like it then say you don't like it but he does have a talent for rapping. Maybe you don't appreciate his lyrics because they're not deep or substantial but I've been performing for 2 years now and the vast majority of rappers, both that I've seen live and listened to out there are a LOT worse than him.
