Omg please don't start this...both mtns are retarded, all i have to say is mammoth def wins on the weather side of things, especially in winter, hood after a good year the summer skiing is pretty much the shit though cause mammoth cooks...

 
Hood most def always goes until mid aug, while mammoth if they don't get a crazy ass snow year like the one we had last it closes around mid june.

 
oh man i went to mammoth with my dad in april and the park is massive, the jumps are terrifying but the rails are amazizing there must be like 100 of them

 
go to hood cause i havent been there but mammoth is amazing for jumps but lacks in the rail department at least when i went...

i think we should coexist peacefully instead of figthing...both are pretty fun to ski. mammoth is mammoth, but hood is killer too (if we aren't having an awful snow year). i like hood's vibe, i know (mostly) all the kids that ski at meadows, its fun.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

Hood is nothing special in the winter. Assuming you want to ski park in the winter (which I'm assuming you do), go to mammoth. They have a park as sick as the summer camps on hood all winter long and into early summer (usually until july 4). The parks at the resorts on hood are nothing special. Mammoth has some good freeride terrain also (and lots of sick freeride terrain is available 2 hours away around lake tahoe)

I've never been to mammoth but hood can kick ass if it's good weather. Timberline always has a sick ass park, but this last year meadows has had a shitty ass park crew who didnt take care of the park at all and it blew most of the year

visit Mammy, then post about how sick Hood isn't. I grew up skiing T-line and Meadows. I went to Mammoth last year - that place flat out rules - sickest, smoothest park and a helluvalot of terrain.

 
Yeah everyone knows that mammoth is sweet. And most days I'm working at T-line I wish I was riding a mtn that had terrain like that. But you will never really understand why people talk about the vibe out here unless you see it for yourself. I've been skiing all around the world and for some reason I still love this place the most. And you can bet if we have even a half way decent snow year our park will be improving greatly.

mammoth is way the fuck better. the skiing is the shit, the town is pretty tight, and i went mountian biking yesterday. that was pretty sick.

 
I like it when there is snow. And when I'm skiing, all I can think about is that I'm skiing, not really where I'm skiing.

I like hood. The people are fun, and there definitely is a neat vibe.

i live in oregon, and mammoth is way sicker. all winter at hood it rains. mammoth is in beautiful california..and theyve got killer parks. summer at hood for sure, but winter, mammoth. Eff just go to whistler...its killer all year long!!!

 
fuck a neat vibe, theres just a bunch of yahoos doin meth. then again mammoth is just tourists and assholes. so i say fuck both of em and go to squaw or jackson hole or something.

mammoth had a crappy vibe when i was there... no one was busting out... but i did meet some funny snowboarders on the lift... but yea tremblants vibe was better cause they had people trying stuff... i think i did the best trick there that whole week...

mammoth is sooo sick its insane.. hood sucks during the winter compared to mammoth but in the summer hood is the best around

 
there are lots of park rat snowboarders at mammoth and thugged out skiers who arent good at all and hang out with snowboarders

 
both of them suck....try cascade mtn in Portage Wiconsin..... i must say k2 graphic designer Ryan Schmies rode there as well as Mr. Seth Morrison himself.... the place is sick.. like 400 vertical feeeeeeeeet ...i mean NOOOO WAY did i believe it when i first heard someone say it was the best resort ever...now my decision is swayeeeeed.....

 
^ thugged out skiers who suck? I have to say that the difference between the "thugged out" skiers at mammoth and at other resorts is they might not be good in the park are usually better skiers than most of the people on the mountian. I suck at the park, but I enjoy it, and I ski it when the rest of the mountain isn't so good.

Not trying to contradict you, because there are thugged out skiers who suck everywhere, but living here that is what I see.

 
Well both places get HUGE amounts of snow..Mammoth might get some drier snow. I think Mammoth has sicker more diverse terriain, but Hood has got the glacier. Toss up..

and last year the mountian closed june 6th, stupid. and july forth this year was one wack "top to bottom" I can't beleive someone is tryin to step to me like they can say shit about mammoth im not gonna call them out on ??!?!......STUPID. As far as the thugged out skiers and noone doing anthing? thats cuase we (we being local kids) don't ski on the weekends or when its that busy, so all the fools you guys see........... are eachother. schpeace

This coming season they're gonna take out the park at Mammoth and require one piece suits in place of tickets to get on the lifts...don't even bother coming here.
