i like how most people throw down the line 'as long as they dont try and do me' or 'see how you like it when they ram it down your cornhole' cause you know, all gay men are also rapists. proven fact... oh wait, not so much.
but, statisticaly, its an unhealthy lifestyle. higher suicide rates, higher occurances of smoking, drinking, drug use, std's, etc. once that isnt a factor in the debate, well, it will be a different picture.
as for the marrige thing, im all for them having visiting rights in the hospital, and inheritance and whatever else they are currently denied. my problem comes when these kind of things are legislated from the bench. and that goes for all legal issues that some prog. judge just up and decides to change one day. in california there was a bill signed into law in the late 90's that protects the traditional definition of marrige. great. thats what the people of the state want, so i say let em have it. then that idiot mayor newsome in san francisco takes it upon himself to be some kind of ethical (weather or not it truly was an ethical issue is up for debate... can you say 'publicity stunt?') crusader and defy the law of the state, because he has the notion that its unconstitutional. (hes not a judge mind you, but the mayor)
if the people of a municipality, state, or country vote a law into existance, then it should stand. if the people want to vote to allow gay marrige, then so be it. if legislature wants to create some kind of alternate union with all the benefits that they currently lack in their commited relationships, grand.
but no more from the bench legislation. that really irritates me.
