ive said it before, i dont hate gays. youre preaching about equal rights, yet you are saying i dont have the righ to freespeech? id like my kids to be able to ask me an honest question, and get my honest opinion. im not going to teach them to hate gays or black or whatever. thats their decision.

 
In response to what 221 said on the last page... we need hetero people to make up for the loss of birthrate from homosexual people? Does that mean single people are bad too? Do you hate them? (Are you single?) I think we have enough people in this world, we don't need to worry about the birthrate going down... and homosexual couples can have babies by artificial insemination or adoption. There are plenty of babies in the world who could use parents to raise them instead of living in substandard orphanages.

According to the pro marriage people, homos either want to

a) marry to show their love of each other

or

b) marry to get the same respect from the government, in the form of financal aid, that hetero couples get.

well to prove 'a' wrong:

marriage was originally and still is a religious ceremony joining a man and woman in 'holy matrimony'. being gay is super bad if you are religious at all as lanks, professorJ and myself have all proved. therefore, if the homos honestly wanted to show their love and commitment to each other, why would they pick a ceremony who's base religion is totaly against homosexuality? it makes no sense. they should just invent their own ceremony if they are looking to get married because they love each other.

Married couples get bonuses for HAVING children because procreating helps the countries economy. adoption doesnt as the child already exists, it is just switching parents. that is why gays and singles do not recieve the same financial benifits as a married heterosexual couple. therefore if a homo couple was to get the same benifits as a hetro family of 4, they are essentially getting money for nothing.

so that pretty much sums up my arguement. i probably missed some points but ill probably remember them later.

the fact remains that you guys are judging a group of people based solely on their sexual preference (which differs from your own). this is what makes you bigots. you can try to talk your way out of it by citing why you think you're justified in your opinion, but it doesn't make any difference. you're prejudging an entire group of people. enough said.

 
last year i started a thread in ski gabber and it turned into this. I must agree with Kami and Emily, good points, and also to bigred, because he has tried to make a coherent argument too. just a few facts to pick on:

If being gay is so unnatural, why do men find lesbians so attractive?

If you are outraged that the government spent 200000 on a gay pride parade, why dont you find out how much money it spent sponsoring Patriot Parades, yellow ribbons and flags.

And about being forced to watch gays show PDA: Say you were gay (not like you could ever really show any empathy for them) and you saw a man kissing his wife or gilrfriend in a subway, on a bus or on the street. you would feel just as uncomfortable with the 'straight' couple kissing.

Gays have always been around too, its not just a recent thing. Famous people are also gay, like Ian Mcellan. Being gay is here, and its here to stay. Get used to it or go live in the south.

And my two cents about religion: It needs to change. Christianity, in the last few years has seen gays in thier own ranks. Remember all those sex scandals? Remember who all the defendants were? they were guys....

another thing is that homosexuality isnt just mental, its biological. They are attracted to the male attraction secretion hormone, not the female, or sometimes both. Arguably it is genetic, but because gay ppl arent very great at reproduction, it doesnt get very far.

dude. when you go the government building and become legally married they don't join you in 'holy matrimony', they say 'aight you're married'.

and you only get tax breaks if you have kids, so a gay couple couldn't get tax breaks unless they adopted a kid, which they've been able to do for the longest time.

I think in France there is a way to have a legal union (not marriage) that unifies a couple tax wise and financially, and maybe that would work better in this case if that's the intended purpose of the marriage.

i suppose it's true that there will always be people around who disagree with homosexuality and think that it is 'wrong'. i just feel sorry for those people...if it really concerns you that much i think you'd live a happier life if you just chose not to deal with it.
