Homework Stinks

teachers at my school just call it "practice". like the word homework has not been mentioned by a teacher yet.

no.

homework you can do when you want. You don't have to wake up at 6am every morning to do homework...so I'm ok with it.

if you'd rather pay for some guy to give you work to do at home than get payed to show up and do something productive you're backwards.
 
How I see it:

Homework sucks if your teacher isn't engaging students in and out of class with work. I find that kids are more inclined to do their homework if they enjoy the class/teacher. It's all really a mutual respect game. Otherwise, it's much more simple if you don't procrastinate/complain and just do the work. Everyone will be better off in the long run. Although I agree that having every teacher pile a load of homework on you as if other teachers don't exist is very frustrating.

However; you aren't making any money doing school work, unless you're at some weird super progressive school that pays students for doing good work. You're just paving the way to how much money you MAY (key word) make, just at a later date. It's kind of like a long term investment. Actually, it IS a long term investment (student loans?). But once you are able to work, you can try to find a job you are qualified for and enjoy, and you're making money as a bonus for being able to do what you love, and not the other way around in a job you may hate getting up to go to any day.

tl;dr

just suck it up do your homework now so you don't end up getting a shitty job because you went down the wrong road. Trust me, you'll just keep on digging until you realize you're cleaning bathrooms at Taco Bell.

At most of the schools I went to homework was a very small percentage of the final grade. Therefore I never did homework.
 
I think I little homework is good practice, but along with soccer every day, the four fucking hours of HW my teachers give me (albeit I do take difficult classes, but still!) is just too much. It's been scientifically proven that after the first hour or so, it loses its helpfulness. What is the point?
 
i have 7 hours of school, then 3 hours of football after school, and then loads of homework. this often leads to late nights which then leads to falling asleep in class, which leads to more homework. it's a never ending cycle
 
it sucks but get ready for long days and nights filled with headaches and frusturations as you desperately get ready for finals week. Some of you will be living at libraries on campus for days on end like a lot of us already do.

Freshman year, I learned that you can get alot of work done; on the bus, in homeroom, and at lunch. From that point on, I rarely did homework at home.

But it is usually poor quality homework but I don't care. I'm a good test taker, and I have little concern for my grades.

yeah i can do that with some of my classes, but with others i can't. i'm in ap us history and it isn't a hard class but it is just sooooo much busy work and you get raped if you don't do it
 
Its so annoying that we get more hours of homework than we get in a school day, and its worth being on a sports team or having a job. And if you can't get it done your teachers all pissed because you were tired from going to bed at 2 because they gave you an ass load of work. That's why i m taking 3 real classes this year, low stress and everything can get done before the school day. Kids also have a shit load of work because they have APs. There's so much I can bitch about with our school system, its so fuckes here.
 
I work a Job after school until ten, and then I come home and work on homework until late in the night. Does it suck? Yes. But you're making a better future for yourself. Get the fuck over it cuz shit could be worse.
 
I take 4 APs, work 3 days a week after school, and play lacrosse, and I'm never stressed out. My homework is very manageable, and I always have free time to myself. I don't even manage my time that well. Maybe my school is an anomaly though.
 
Bruh I go 12 hours of school a day then 5 full time jobs then football and soccer and dungeons and dragons club and then a 2 hour bus ride then 9 hours of homework and I'm not bitching you could have it much worse
