Hometown myths, legends, and just scary ass places

you know how the haunting in conneticut was a movie yeahh the real house is about 3 min from my house people live in it right now when the movie first came out kids where trying to break in while the homeowners where sleeping they freaked out

i live by this camp called Windigo that i guess a while ago a camp counselor hung 5 girls in a barn and then killed herself. me my girlfriend and a few of my friends went up there one night and after a 45 minute drive deep into woods in the middle of nowhere we got to the camp, we went in the barn first where the girls were supposidly hung and like 2 minutes after we got up there we heard a girl moaning. we all ran out and were pretty shook but we went in a few of the cabins and in one we were in the basement and at one point everyone noticed it dropped like 5 degrees, people say ghosts are present when you can feel the temperature drop. and goin up the stairs my friend started straight freakin out saying he saw something right at the top of the stairs, i didnt see it though cause i was fuckin last. but then in another cabin we were upstairs in this room i didnt want to go in, idk why i just had some wierd ass feeling and right after we walked out of the room the door SLAMMED right behind me it was scary as shit. then right as we were leaving i turned my car on and when the headlights came on 2 of the cabin doors whipped open at the same time and something hit my car right as i started to pull away. seriously the sketchiest shit ive seen, i didnt believe in ghosts or anything until that night.
 
My buddy had to rent a house while he was waiting for his other house to be finished up. Basically, this house is in some magazine about how its the most haunted place in our area. The story behind it is that the dad went crazy and put their newborn baby girl in a bath of singing hot water and it burned her to death or something like that. The basement look like something straight from a horror movie and there were hundreds of flies in the one bedroom when we were moving him in, creepy as fuck. I'll try to find the article and post it later..
 
My friends parents have a summer house in CT, and the basement is all dirt. They found Indian bones in the buried in the basement. I'm pretty sure they left them there so no spirits get angry.
 
every summer, my family goes to my cabin on windermere lake. and for as long as i can remember there was always this old abandoned house up the the road. last summer, i finally decided to investigate, but since my parents were mad at me, i had to sneak out and go when it got dark. so midnight rolls by and i decide its time to leave and make my way to the house. when i get to the door, i start to get bad vibes, but i think to myself "fuck it, im not a pussy, this is nothing" and i walk in. now , the first thing i see, is this room, with nothing but a table, a chair, and somethings on the table, but since theres no lights i cant tell waht they are. i use my phone to get some lighting, and on the table, i shot you not, is a revolver, and a dark red stain around, so at about this time im tinking its time to get the fuck out, when my eyes catch a piece of paper on the ground, and the paper read "I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror, if anything i can say that this cab was rare, but i thought, nah forget it, yo homes to bel-air."
 
in vancouver I belong to the royal vancouver yacht club and the have this outstation u can go to uo the indian river ( i think) well it was an old whore house then became an inn and then my yacht club bought it and its huge like 100 room or somthing like that they also have a waterfall and pool and other games but anywas some one got killed there and its haunted in some room (dont no which) and there is also old indian fire places and huts outside. also beside it there is this metal building coverd in bullets.
 
One of my favorite places around here is the old distillery in Linfield, PA. Probably a dozen abandoned warehouses with tons of cool shit still in there like boxes of unused liquor bottles. It's pretty close to Limerick if anyone is familiar with the Limerick nuclear power plant.

I spent two weeks in Italy a few years ago in Gambaraldi, a small town in the mountains about two hours away from Bologna. It's a very old town and they got electricity only a few years ao. Anyway there are like four total buildings in the town and the one I stayed in has been in the family for more than 200 years. I don't know the story but apparently the town is haunted the family house is the "most active" building. There is a tower, which is now a bedroom, in the house that is said to be wicked haunted and a ghost lives in that particular room. I tried to sleep in it one night, and just couldn't. The place was scary as fuck, it's pitch black and I swear it was the coldest room in that house at night by a good 10 degrees, and everybody that has tried to sleep there before has failed because they have been scared shitless. Other family members say they've heard weird breathing noises when they were trying to sleep and when I was there i couldn't help but feel like someone was in the corner watching me. It's the scariest place I've ever been to and i didn't believe in ghosts and paranormal activity until I visited this place
 
If that is true then my house would have hundreds of ghosts in it because my dad has a shitton of stuff he found metaldetecting when he was a kid.

They probably just told you that because it is illegal to take the stuff so they threaten you with a ghost.
 
i live 5 minutes away from oniontown. Seriously if people would stop fucking around up there maybe theyd stop shooting people
 
alright ive got some..
sooo, i was up camping in the mountains with some friends, we decided to go exploring and got super deep into the wood's ended up on this old trail that looks like it hasnt been used in a looong time, there are big tree's now growing in the middle of it. so we followed it for probably 30 minutes, then saw an old run down cabin probably 50 yard's off the trail. it was pretty creepy cause we were like an hour away from the nearest trail that lead back to civilization. it was just like any normal old cabin, looked like nobody put any effort into keeping it in good shape at all. had most of its roof gone, and one wall fallen in, it was mostly empty except for a couple old ass pot's and what looked like an old wooden bed post. so we took our time and looked around, and after awhile we found an old newspaper inbetween the roof/wall, with this kinda sheet metal around it. and a nail through the sheet metal and the newspaper then the sheet metal on the other side. we looked at the newspaper, most of it was unreadable. but pages back you could make out most of a whole page. and it was definitely from the 1800's. all the writing they used looked like it was straight out of an old western movie, and the grammer they used was definitely straight out of the 1800's. there were words in there ive never heard of. but all i remember was that there was an article about someone named catlett tipton and his partner or something named pleas wyatt (i think) talking about how they were trying to catch him and all the crimes he's commited. there was another article about a hangin and other stuff. its awesome/creepy as hell to think about who's cabin that is and why that newspaper was hidden so well, and what else might have been in that paper that cant be read.

another one is when i was taking pictures for my photo class, i decided to go probably an hour out of town in the middle of nowhere in hopes of finding old rundown stuff. i got to this house that had signs all around it about not tresspassing, and some like homemade signs saying threatening stuff. it looked super creepy it was super rundown there was old fucked up playground equipment, and a noose behind and to the side of the house, so i decided to get as close as i could without like going up to the door. and after like 2 minutes of taking pictures, there is this extremely loud noise coming from the house, it sounded like an extremely loud broken washing machine, just really fast banging sound. it scared the shit out of me, cause i was in the middle of nowhere, it was completely silent and hearing that loud ass noise freaked me the hell out, i ran as fast as i could back to my car and got out of there.
and the last one we were at a friends house, he lives out of town, has like one neighbor within a mile, and he's got like 100 acres. it was probably 1 at night, we had a little fire and we were just hanging out, when somebody thought he saw a flashlight out in the distance. so we started walking in that direction, which was off his property and on public land, and we couldnt really make out the sound, none of us had flashlights, after walking maybe 200 yards we heard a sound, after we got a little closer it sounded like people, then when we were probably 50 feet away we could tell it was chanting. as we got closer it sounded like little girls doing some wierd creepy as hell almost angry chant. we could hardly see them till we got like 10 feet away, and could sorta make out that atleast most of them were girls. my friend said "hey" and they didnt react, just kept chanting. we stood there for like 20 seconds just scared and confused, we went back to get a car, drove out there like 2 minutes later and they were gone.
 
There's an abandonned school near the highway in my town. It was a detention center for kids with problems and young criminals but it moved away to another town. Probably because the school in right in the middle of a residential area so lot of shit must had happened. Anyway, it's a scary ass place, it's huge and everything is destroyed. One night we decided to man up and take a look inside. We tried every door,locked, and there was no broken window near the ground, so we climb to the roof where there was a open window. We went inside, and honestly, it was fucking boring. I was scared the whole time but there was nothing to see. The sickest thing was like the kitchen and the gymnasium. But there was bed with straps everywhere, that was scary. An hour later, we go out, nothing really interesting happened. But after, one of my firends told me there's usually a dude there who stays in the basement with a wrench. no one really knows who it is and what he does, but I'm pretty sure he's not a nice guy.Glad we didn't find him.

We're planning on going again and explore all the basement this time to see this dude. I hope it'll be okay.
 
we used to go to an abandoned castle from like the 1700's. it's at the western tip of montreal and was super cool, but i believe it was taken down.

theres also an abandoned orphanage in st-laurent but ive never been.
 
Here is a good one, I was flying arpund the other day and I seen this little like mettalic silver ball floating above a cloud going up and away from me then it disapered. That was the strangest thing i have ever seen.
 
my high school's theater place,(can't remember wtf they're called currently, i just woke up) is haunted by a ghost that doesn't let anything ever go perfect for any play. she's like a poultergeist. in the fifties she fell from the balcony onto the seats below. first time i ever saw a play there as a kid, i watched with my own eyes, a piano tip over for no reason onto a girls ankle, shattered it, and they had to cancel the show halfway through.
 
right this sounds stupid, but a while back someone on here posted a thread about going to some rocks and something grabbed one of the people then they took a photo and there was a face in the darkness

so i have pictures of thise place finally, i just went back the other day during the the sunlight so i was able to get pictures but shitty quality cause there from my phone but anyway here they are, the frist one is the barn thats collapsing its just filled with chainsaws and weird shit, the second one is the halfway house between the barn and the house its just cluttered with old tools and stuff, and the last picture is of the house, its pretty big, we didnt go down into it cause the trai lwas mad muddy and we were about to go to a concert, like i sad before the house is pretty much set in the worst location/ really out there not around anything

We have a haunted mansion remains in the woods up here. Quick story. Dude lived there with wife, cut her off from all of her friends. she tried to send letter for help with servant, servant turned up dead in creek. Eventually a bunch of shit went down and the place burned down and blah blah blah haunted.

Then there was this dude garrow in the 70s. He used to kill campers up here. Raped bitches and killed them. Fun stuff
 
theres a old partially burnt down winery in my city. supposedly its one of the closest places to hell in my county or something? but anyways a bunch of local cults go there and hang kittens from the roof and shit. and a bunch of old army vets live there.. its pretty creepy but its also covered in tons of awesome graffiti so its cool to go to in the day and look at. theres no real story behind it its just creepy as fuck

4 years ago i took this course in high school and its basically an outdoor course where you spend a whole term going on outdoor trips. Well for this one trip we went sea kayaking at sechelt in B.C. . Any who this one day the teacher decided to take us to this old abondoned bible camp that is just chillin on this beach in the middle of nowhere. When you're kayaking up to it theres this big looming building with a really steep peaked roof that looks pretty odd. The main part of the camp is sort of hidden up past the beach and into the woods. Their is a lot of paintball marks and remnants of camp fires and parties. This camp consists of like 14 buildings and a dock. So when your walking around you get weird vibes from the place and the buildings that i cant really explain. The buildings are pretty run down because the camp closed 30 years ago and you can only get to it by boat. Most of the cabins consist of bunk for the kids to sleep in and their was a mess hall that mysteriously blew up and burnt to the ground a few years back. Then their is the medical hall which is actually in decent condition but has the top floor locked off. I wonder whats up there? Their is a rusty old playground that looks like something out of Chernobyl and this massive big peaked room building they have like 3 huge ass abondoned wierd looking logging vehicles. However by far the most creepiest and strangest thing about the camp is the old owners house. It is built on huge stilts on this hill with a windy dirt road leading up to it. It is in the middle of the woods and is real out of the way. You can no longer use the main door and have to sneak around to the back and break down a rotten door on whats left of the back patio. (This is because the house is basically completed rotten and not safe to enter so back then we had to get in without having the teacher catch us). Just looking at the house gives you a weird vibe an once your inside it looks like something out of the texas chainsaw massacre. I had to catch my friend from falling two stories through the rotten floor to the basement. We really couldn't explore much because the only thing holding you up was the rotten carpet which by the looks of two people had already fell through. Weirdest place i have seen in my life

The old bible camp isn't too scary, I first started going there when I was 8 years old. You can get there by boat or 4x4 trail, its a lot of fun if you drive up there... The bible camp is now demolished, because they found that is was built on top of a 4,000 year old Indian burial ground, that and the structures needed to come down anyways lol.
 
There is this one abandoned building about 5 min from where I live. I forget what used to be there, but its now covered in vandalism and all the windows are broken. My sister went inside one time and she claimed she had a weird vibe while in there. I want to go explore it soon and get some pics.
 
My baby sitter told me there were dead bodies in their basement. I never tried to find out. Not a myth or a legend but that was a scary ass place when you're 5.

Also the usual haunted insane asylums and all that kind of ZOMG WE ALL GONNA DIE spooky place type stuff like everywhere else.
 
Sorry for the dub post, but I just remembered another one. There's a big abandoned factory complex that me and a few of my friends explored the other night. It was fucking spooky, but really cool. We're going back next week and I'll get pics.
