yea i know its probally a re-post but i havnt seen anything on the first page about this in a while so whats some scary places, myths, or legends in your town?

tonight i just got back from a house in the middle of the redneck part of the county where a guy shot his ex-girlfriends family and then shot himself, and another guy shot himself in the kneecaps in the middle of the road and bleed to death because someone kept screwing with his property and made him go insane, it was scary as hell there, there were papers and magazines from the 80's there, we didnt get to explore everything due to the main floor to the basement was caving in, it was all good we did it in the middle of a downpour though made it 10 times worse but nothing terrifying happened

another myth that we did a couple months ago was to drive on this longass bullavard that winds around a mountain that connects to towns, i guess about 20 or 30 some years ago a kid got pissed and decided to fly down this road, wrecked off the guardrail and rolled 100 some yards down the bank of the mountain, if you stop in the turnaround in the middle, turn off your lights and drive in a circle 3 times and wait 5 minutes your supposed to see a truck come flying down the road and it starts chasing you until you reach the begining of the town and it looks as if the lights of the truck go off the side of the mountain, we didnt and nothing happened it was just creepy cause a mansion is up there that belongs to Lou DeNaples that supposdly has connections to the mob and has been known to severly hurt tresspasseners

the a couple sanateriums and graveyards we plan on visiting over the summer too, soo if anyone has some cool as story to share, post it

back where i used to live there was a little town outside where i lived on the coast, which had a national park that started at the base of these ranges. and some girl got murdered in there a few years ago, and its apparently been haunted ever since. we would try to dare each other to stay in it overnight by ourselves with no communication, but ffffuuuucccckk that. kinda lame story, but thats all i got

that sounds ridiculous, im guessing you live on west coast due too the gold mine,

im on the east in NEPA and theres a shitload of coal mines but im way to scared to go down in them, there one were 14 some miners dided or something, listed in the top 10 most paranormal active places in PA

where abouts? In Point Roberts, which is a tiny American town on the border with mine, I've explored a few abandoned houses and barns. it's pretty creepy, there's wierd and often disturbing things written on the walls, needles on the floor, and the likes.

Well in Detroit there is the legend of loupgaru which is very complicated but in a nutshell is a guy that can turn into a wolf and killed lots of people in the late 1800's. Ironically our old wooden hakercraft is named loupgaru.

Also one of my great great aunt caught her husband cheating on her. She proceeded to shoot and kill him and then tried to wrap the gun around a tree. My great grandma got the gun and gave it to my dad. My dad later found that the gun is very valuable and got it compltley restored and says that it is his favorite gun. Nothing really haunting or scary, i just feel really weird when I shoot that gun.

theres this road by me that has all KKK shit hanging everywhere and if you drive down at night theres actually a couple rednecks that will follow you in a pickup with there lights off and then when their right behind you theyll turn on their light and chase you. ive done it and it actually happens. just a couple hicks fuckin with people

This one is kinda world wide famous

I live in Kelowna, BC and it is on a lake called the okanogan lake. Its a pretty big lake maybe 100-150 km in length not very wide maybe 10 km width max. So basically a very long narrow lake also fairly deep. Not sure how they started but sometime around the early 20th century, this legend of this monster called the ogopogo was created. Supposedly this giant eel/ snake like creature roams the lake. Stories of peoples boats getting hit by it or it creating a large set of rouge waves on the surface have been told. My guess is that its some giant sturgeons that dwell at the bottom. Some of them get up to like 30 feet long live for like 80 years and are scary as fuck. Anyways the ogopogo is some famous myth from my town. It even has a run named after it at the ski hill!

This actually sounds like fun. Once they get right behind you, slam on the brakes and see how there reactions are

Ive visited Okanogan a couple of times, since its near my cabin's lake. I cant forget seeing that statue in the park by the beach

i live in PA too. around 40 minutes north of Pittsburgh. Near me, theres as an old abandoned KKK house. Its freaky as FUCK. All the hanging devices and torture devices still hang from the trees and shit. the house is straight up ridiculously scary, just the weirdest shit everywhere you look. one time going there was plenty for me, never again.

theres also an abandoned insane asylum or something like that that is really haunted. i refuse to go in to there after the abandoned KKK house. shit was fucked

Here in VT/NY we have a lake that's long and narrow like that, lake champlain, and it's like 400 feet deep. They say that champ lives in it, pics later

there's a street in my town, whiskey hollow road, apparently a bunch of people were killed by the KKK there, satanist rituals, and all that stuff were done, and a whole cabin of people was burned down with the people inside

sketchy to go out at night

google it, whiskey hollow road NY

i've been in a ton of old barns, grain storage units, and other farm buildings.

one of them had 4 or 5 gnarly looking hooks hanging from the ceiling and tons of old clothes strewn everywhere. a little suspicious if you ask me.

also there is a "haunted" indian graveyard about ten minutes away from my house. i've only been out there once and the only thing i saw was a shit ton of beer cans, some hypodermic needles and pentagrams carved into trees.

nothing to sketchy around my town but there are these old concrete structures by a water treatment plant that are pretty cool to be in when its raining

yeah man, there's this place off 22 (going between pittsburgh and penn state) called torrance state hospital. there's the up and running run, but across the street there's the old abandoned one set a few feet back into the woods. i went twice, you have to park in a corn field next to the woods and walk down. of course there was the practice of unorthodox treatment of patients, some even buried in the basement, etc. seriously the scariest place i've ever been. the feeling you get when you walk in is unreal. i had to literally force my legs to walk in the first time. the second time i went i couldnt even walk in i was so scared.

apparently its patrolled by cops every night now because too many people were trying to go and it's too dangerous to walk around in there.

We got this one place called STI, which is ana abandoned old explosives testing facility in the hills. Its got a room called "the Satan room" that has this message about the next coming of Satan spray painted over and over and over again in different fonts and sizes all over the room. The only thing in the room is a chair. It only locks from the outside, so you can lock someone in, and there is a viewing slot so you can watch them from the other side of the wall. There is another small house off to the side of the compound, and I shit you not it has baby's hand prints in red all over the walls (its obviously red paint and not blood, but it is seriously like an actual babies hand making the prints....really creepy). That same room also has just a bunch of random dolls lying all over the place. It used to be where the really hardcore kids went and got drunk in highschool, but it burned down partially in the wildfires and I heard its patrolled now.
There is also William S. Hart's mansion. He was an old western actor/cowboy. His mansion is supposedly haunted by his ghost, his wifes ghost, and even his horse's ghost. Supposedly there is a window that has a weird aura around it every time you take a picture of it, but it only works on film and doesn't show up digitally. I've seen that picutre on the internet but never tested it myself. My buddy used to work there setting up the haunted house they do there on halloween and he said that he one time locked up the whole house,m ade sure no one was inside, and as he was walking down the hill the light on like the 3rd story turned on and when he went back in to turn it off still no one was there. thre is also a dog cemetery there which is kinda creepy.
Theres also Vasquez Rocks, named after the bandito Vasquez. (If you have seen the new star wars movie, the vulcan planet is made of a picture of the main rock from Vasquez Rocks just digitally copied over and over again. Its got like a weird cult status for being used in movies). The bandit used to use the rocks to hide out, and its said that his lost treasure (he did actually like factually have a huge wealth of gold and money and shit that disappeared) is buried out there somewhere still. In the same area there is also this old, old foundation of the house that used to house a really creepy cult like 50+ years ago. (cult thing is true and documented fact) There are some crazy ghost stories about that like a headless ghost and stuff.

An aboriginal education at my old school /claims to have seen the ogopogo.

people also say the ogopogo is a plesiosaur

Plesiosaurus.jpg

and it's always awesome when people come here in the summer and ask if it's real or not haha.

I'm from cranberry PA, and I've seen said Insane Asylum in Emsworth, it's all locked up, but it's still mad creepy. Apparently at one point in like the 1900s the Inmates had a riot and took over, and proceeded to get some pretty disturbing revenge on the guards, and burned half the place down. Supposed to be very haunted.

as much of an urban legend as the ogopogo is, you gotta wonder where all the speculation comes from, along with the videos and pictures snapped. and all of the stories.

imagination and the possibility to make money off it.

just look up ufo sightings. they are clearly depending on what you want to see. most sightings are reported in the US. you would think that for example in southern america would be an equal amount of activity, but due to the lack of "information" about this topic, there are considerably less sightings.

same with these lake monsters. i mean, how should a small population (obviously not more than 10 animals of that size) survive thousands of years in a small lake?

theres a place in old town erie (which goes back to the 1800's) where 13 people were hung called 13 trees. if you go on midnight of friday the 13th somethings supposed to happen but i forget what

I don't know if it's this place or not, but a few years back I went to an asylum like this one. You park in the woods to get to it, and most of the time you can't find it. Scary ass shit. Pillars just lying in the middle of the fores and shit.
In Allentown theres a parkway (forget the name at this time) that is apparently haunted by this guy and his dogs with no legs, a dead girl, and albinos. You hear whistling whenever you go. Pretty creepy.
We should have a PA NS ghosthunt.

yea kinda i live in moscow, 5 mins from scranton, i got to jessup alot though in the summer, whos this kid?

There is supposedly an abandoned monestary in a canyon next to my town, I doubt it, but I've heard adults in my town say its there.

i think your talking about west mountain sanaterium, i plan on going there soon, a lot of crazy shit happened there, experimental treatment for tuberculousis and cancer, and then over night the place caught fire everything is gone except a couple building, no one was found there in the morning and no one knows how the fire started, its a huge place too

A town that is about 10 minutes from me says that; we have 1 of the 7 gateways to hell. The town is called Stull, Kansas. Its extremely small boasting a population of 15 people.
The rumor is that the devil himself makes an appearance on two occasions each year. One is in the summer months, and the other is on Halloween. Every year on Halloween a crowd of about 500 on lookers come to watch the devils appearance. Personally i think that this steams from the fact that in the 70's in two consecutive years the church was burnt down; on Halloween.
They say that the devils son is buried there and that why he makes 2 appearances a year. Personally i have never been to the grave site... but i do know a few friends that have. They told me that there is a gap where the front door use to be. If you walk up to the edge and throw a rock or bottle down where the floor once was before the fire there is no crash crack or anything from the rock or bottle hitting the floor.
To me this place is pretty heavy, and its kind of hard to wrap my head around it. In 2002 it mysteriously was demolished but the rubble still remains.

we have a insane asylum that is still being used right beside a park where it used to be and this is all right beside a bunch od homes

theres a haunted house called "valentown" near me. it was featured on ghost hunters. theres also an abandoned TB ward that burned down about 5 minutes from me. i dont know if its haunted, but its scary as fuck. the whole place burned down but theres wheelchairs and clothing and shit all over. you can wal around where it used to be and theres walls and a basement but there is no way to get to the basement except for these huge holes in the concrete. my brother fell througha smaller hole but caught himself before he went the whole way in.

HOLY SHIT. i checked that strangeusa site, there was a UFO sighting right on my street.

fuckin goin alien hunting.

Like 10 minutes from my house is this "Mary Janes Grave" http://www.graveaddiction.com/mjcem.html Its something fun to go to when your mad bored which happens a ton in our town. One time on our way out there we had a big van with only two seats and a couch in the back. I brought my paintball gun because people are known to have seance back their. well on the way their my paintball gun stopped working. Its an electric gun so i shut it off and set it down. 5min later it let off 3shots in the van it was funny as fuck, not anything paranormal but everyone who hasnt been there yet was already on edge so it scared everyone.
Supposedly Mary Jane was hung by the tree at the grave yard and if you pee on it you'll die. Well someone in my class finally got the balls to do it, and the next week he fell out of his tree stand while hunting and broke his neck and back he was fucked up and in the hospital for a couple months. I dont believe in it much but its always something fun and creepy to go check out.

I'd be down for that. I'm more into just exploring abandoned stuff though so I'm not sure if i could take it seriously if i was sober haha.

Oh and there is this old school in my town that me and a couple friends like to go to and paint graffiti inside. We walk all around the place and still almost everytime your in there you here light bulbs and such being smashed, things falling over and crashing. We have spent all day in there and never found anyone else in there unless there is some bum that knows secret ways through the place and likes to fuck with us i like to say its haunted. We found this hole in one of the rooms that goes under the floor and it looks like you can walk all over underneath the place but its like 10ft deep and we dont have a way to get out if we went down there. Its a fun kick it spot and you get the shit scared out of you about every half hours its a blast lol

....these pics are 3yrs old hate all you want lol idc

Im from ohio put go to Pitt all the time depending on the timing of this exploration id be down. Sorry for being a thread whore, but i love doing this shit being from a boring ass town we have done a lot of exploring

i went on a trip to Gettysberg PA, that place is scary as fuck too. they said if you bring something from gettysberg (like a bullet you found on the ground or a glass bottle etc.) then you bring a ghost with you. I went in this old barn and it felt like someone was watching me, so scary.

I live close to a mountain called mont saint hillaire. the mountain isnt skiiable but it is fun to walk in during summer and illegaly boulder. there are a shit tonne of interesting facts and legends about the place. I will leave the most interesting for last but, In old legends people thought that the lake at the base was an underground tunnel to lake champlain. There was said to be a lake monster like nessy in there. there are 10% of all the minerals on Earth that are found on that little mountain... of those, 4 are not found anywhere else on earth but that specific mountain.
most baller: its the number 1 spot in all of quebec and I think canada for UFO sightings.
