ok im makin a flat down box and i am trying to decide what to use for the sliding surface..... i have seen pbc pipe and i am wondering what is best to use

there is a plastic called lexicon I believe and It works really well. Pretty expensive but you can get it off line. It is like the some plastic cutting boards

its actually called lexan (if we're talking about the same stuff which i am sure we are), but yeah thats probably your best bet if you want to make it like a box you'd find in a park. also, it comes clear so you can do some cool shit under it if you want.

lexicon and lexan are bi products of the same thing. its also pvc not pbc. pvc pipe is good cuz iincredibly cheap, however its not that durable. Hdpe paneling is petty legit, you can get it in sheets at home depot

id also like to add that your best bet is to check out the build a jib cult, theyll have all the information you need about sliding surfaces.

honestly just get pvc pipe, its like 3 dollars for 12 feet and its easy to replace, just put them real close together with no spaces and it slides like a real box you find at a terrain park

Multiple small pvc pipes is the cheapest way. Lexan and plexi glass are good but expensive and require edges. Pvc works great

last year for our box we just had a sheet of masonite on top. it was super smooth, and didnt rot or anything. just need to make sure the screws were flush.

Well, pvc cracks really easy in the cold, and it's really slippery and hard to grip when you want to do switchups or spin out. I bought some high-density polyurethane for a 2 ft. wide 16 ft long box, and it cost me $90ish bucks, but that is a ton of plastic because the box is so big. I would reccomend that, it's worth it in the long run, because it's super durable and you never have to replace it. The only thing that I regret about it was not putting coping on, becuase any plastic box without coping is hard to grip with your skis. Definitely go with polyurathane if you plan on keeping the box for a while.
