Homemade Foam Pit

is 4 feet deep enough? and why dont you just line the bottom with a tarp and just haul them all out and store them somewhere?

Now to answer all your questions....

1. 4ft is just the depth of the foam. There will be bed mattresses laid on the bottom because the foam cubes can shift, beds cannot.

2. I will be using 8"x8"x8" foam gymnast cubes. It will cost me approximately $2000 to have them bought and shipped here.

3. The actual pit will be framed with 2x4's and covered with plywood. The bottom will most likely be concrete.... once again with bed mattresses placed at the bottom.

I have considered making a "lid" for the pit. This idea consisted of making a box with 2x4's the axact dimensions of the OUTSIDE of the pit. Then placing a 2x4 vertically across in the middle (like a rood peak...keeps the rain from pooling) and stapling a large tarp all the way around on the edges. This would then be mounted to the end of the foam pit on large hinges.

Any other suggestions? Pictures will be posted when completed

wow u really have the 2 g to spend/waste on foam blocks?? props man...sick idea fersure, hope it all works out, and if your shellin out for the foam then u gotta go all out to protect it...pics when ur done

This might be a little impractical but why not take all the foam out and store it indoors when your not using it? It would be a bitch but tbh i cant see it being that difficult.

i dont wanna carry 1000+ foam cubes over 100 yards to my house. I would have no where to store them either.

stop being such a tool bag.. I have never seen one positive post from you. your name should be brown for shity member. and also you think shes being stupid... by trying to contribute. you also dont know what the fuck your talking about. Rodents actualy love cleanlyness they actualy clean themselves much more than people and they stay away from dirty places if they can. I have two rats and work at a pet shop. dont hate on people for saying "ignorant things" especialy if your going to top it off with an other ignorant comment

My "local" gym is an hour away and does not offer open gym time. Im not a big fan of gymnastic tights and tumbling classes either.

Spending 2gs man? I don't know go skiing this summer for a week at a place that has coaches and foam pits then just bounce on your trampoline when your home. I bet you would learn alot more man. Either way sick idea

ya pretty much what everyones said, make it all solid all the way around then get some sort plexiglass/strong wood/covering mice cant get though and just put a rock on top while your not using it, a little crude but effective. moth balls would be a nice touchif you dont end up covering it, make sure you get a video of it because it would be jokes to see you kang flip in a nd a squirrel just like jumps out and bites you haha

dont worry bro, i got that all worked out too. One week out at MHSSC. Its crazy what all you can buy when you save your money. Get a job kids

try using really thick wood. and make it taller. maybe even place a few rat poisons or mouse traps around it every once in a while
