Hey guys i got all this wood and metal and some pvc piping from the extra materials from my new house. i am looking to build either some rails or some fairly big sized boxes. Is there any good sites on the web where i can get some ideas on what to build or some measurements i could go roughly by.

I know alot of you guys here have built rails for yourself and for other resorts and i was wondering if i could get some help for my first (and hopefully not my last rail)

go to website that sells rails. they won't tell you ow to build them, but it will give you some ideas as to what kind ofsic rails you could make. as for boxes, ask around to see what resorts use on the top, cuz if your box doesn't slide well, it will suck ass to use.

 
there are no sites...mauii had a good one somewhere...but just draw your own up. Dont just build from scratch you really get screwd up...and dont make them small 3ft and up is good height and 10ft or more long, for at least my backyard its good.

 
yea, try and make it as long as possible, cuz i made a 10 foot one last season and it got boring anfter a while. and i suggest drawing up a wodden frame and building that first then put the pvc on top, thos kids of rails are real stable and fun. oh yea, and nobody knows how to make boxes, its one of those great mysteries of the universe

well i know how to make a box....not much harder then a rail (maybe even easier)

for a good rail to learn stuff on, bolt two pvc pipes tpgether, scre them to a 2x4 from the underneath (up through 2x4 and then through the pipes), before attaching the rail to the 2x4 add supports and stuff.

when it snows i just use my tramp like the out side and have some sides down and take out half so it is like a c it is tight if you get it stable

i'm hungry

 
last winter i started to ski and i live on a farm so i put up a cattle gate in my back yard like on happy dayz and had a tree grind and some jumps and smaller rails

 
yeah make the rail a real challenge like a down kink thats 24ft or something, so you can progress to it.

how long do you guys suggest for a rail...im not a pro but, i dont suck you see...
