Home Made Glide Cam?

i remember seeing some dude make one out of an old tripod and 3 or 4 0,5l bottles filled with water. he tied the bottles to the bottom of tripod and it was definitely more stable than freehand, but it doesn't compare anywhere near a legit glidecam. not so sure about how it will work when the water in the bottles freeze during the winter.

and i'm sure google has answers
 
hate to bring up an old thread but i make steadicams! and am working on a glidecam version, if i get funding ill have them made sooner

Use sand instead of water in the winter
 
What's your skill level??

I made one on a mill and lathe out of aluminum. Basically looked at a glidecam and from their information on the website I modeled it in 3D cad software then made all the pieces and put it together.
