Just had a little eye opener today that kind of scared me.

My dad friends were out mountain biking today, probably 5 or 6 of them. All expereinced bikers, on trails they had all done previously.

One guy, whos a doctor, probably mid 50's, paid, married with kids rides across a bridge, but theres a little bit of frost on it and he bails.

Onto his neck and broke it.

My dads friends had to give him mouth to mouth for 2 hours while they waited for a helicopter. He's currently paralyzed from the neck down, so he was like trying to say stuff to them, but couldnt because he couldnt breathe (lungs paralyzed). Apparently he was mouthing stuff and started to turn blue, so they gave him mouth to mouth, and whenever they stopped he started to turn blue again so they kept going.

Hes in hospital now, but theres super slim chances he'll walk again, and we can only hope he'll recover as much as possible.

Shit fucking happens. No warning, to anybody. Be thankful everybody, and have fun while ya can.
 
a really good friend of mine was at nationals last year and on a warm up run ollied off a nole and fell, and broke his neck.

really shocked when it happened because hes a real good snowboarder and fell on a fuckin lil nole of all things.

anyway, hes paralyzed from the neck down now..its really sad.
 
I ride trails a lot and know how fun it is, and I hope that the doctors can help him out as much as possible to get him riding again. karma to the family

guy in town did that couple years ago here split his helmet right in two

medical bills were rediculous there were tons of fundraisers all over town
 
fuck man that sucks. i had a mate that was killed at a party last year, everyone was having a mad time, everything was legit, then some g's rocked up uninvited and stabbed him in a random fight.

its crazy how quickly life can change!!!!

thats tough. a few years ago my dads really good friend had a skiing accident and in now either paralyzed from the neck or legs down im not sure which. But he will most likey never be able to walk again.
 
yea one of my dads buddys was snowmobiling down a trail at night and a tree fell on a telephone wire across the trail and he got decapitated..... its a pretty nasty story but its true... shits fuckkked up
 
fuck i hate hearing about skiing acidents because i know that could easily be me and it scares the shit out of me. Like we always go skiing or skateboarding or mountain biking thinking your never going to be that kid who falls and breaks his neck or ski's into a tree and die when in reality it could be anyone, even pro skiers. And like said theres no warning it just happens.

I guess all you can do is live your life and if shit happens like that i guess there nothing you can do about it, kinda sad to think about but its true.
