i know people will probably down vote this but skiing is becoming gymnastics. yea the trick was probably really difficult n'shit and im not trying to hate, it was sick AF, but skiing is slowly just fucking dying and becoming gymnastic. Like Candide said "skiing needs to go back to the way it used to be less rotation more style" props to russ though still sick!

That shouldn't be a negative. A better way of phrasing it would be 'to be a relevant pro you need to be able to do hollywood stunt man shit' on snow of course. You think the guy who does Tom Cruise's stunts sucked at gymnastics?

And freeskiing is free gymnasts are confined to shit like parallel bars and a balance beam to show off their skills these guys hit whatever whenever if theres snow and some air and a rail to grind. That is where the relevance ends. Freeskiiers shouldn't be butthurt if they can't rotate and don't have a gymnastics background they can go run gates or do something else if they don't like it or become lifties or something etc etc to pay the bills. Tough shit if in order to be a freeskiier and get paid for it you need to be able to get as gnarly on a trampoline as the best asian kid at gymnastics in a large bay area high school.

IDK about you but I'm prettttyyy sure that this is a fairly creative twist on a JUMP and RAIL trick.. just a tad more creative than sliding 2 inches behind bindings and grabbing skis instead of a straight slide....

I see what you mean. not trying to hate on russ or anything, but my opinion id rather watch LSM do some switch lip 2 on to nose press, but hey people all have different opinions and i respect them, if skiers all thought the same are sport would suck!

I read a lot of posts on newschoolers and think how cool it is that people from all over the place try to contribute in a language that might not be their mother tongue - only to click on their profile and realize they're actually US citizens.

Why can't I have the opinion that I'd rather watch "X" than "Y"? I WOULD rather watch dh than slalom. I would rather watch backcountry, big mountain or a good park shoot than urban. At no point have I said that watching one thing or another will cause another to cease to exist.

I think the biggest thing is when people choose whatever sub-genre of skiing, they kinda talk down on the others. Some people on here discredit Nick Goepper because he's into the comp shit. Some people also discredit the bunch even though they're some of the most stylish skiers in the game. It's just lame when a sport with the word free in the name is so harshly judged.
