HOLY SHIT!!! JACKSON HOLE

Today was the deepest recorded day ever at jackson. it was fucking insane! the snow report said 21 inches over night, but there was 40 inches in the bowl and by the end of the day it had snowed about 50. Nothing opened above the gondola because the avalanche danger was way too high. Ski patrol ran out of explosives, got more, and ran out again, and still couldn't open over half the mountain. It's supposed to snow at least another 15 inches tonight so the mountain still probably won't open tomorrow til like at least noon. This is fucking insane.. the snow is literally up to your armpits and you have to go straight down the hill just to keep moving. Shit's gonna get real in about 2 days and I can't fucking wait.

sorry, i don't have a link or anything. i'm just going by what a mountain host said, so it's probably bullshit that it was the deepest day ever. but nonetheless, by far the most snow i've ever skied.

nuff said

but fo cereal thats crazy man, have a fun time and think of the rest of NS while your shreddin some pow.

oh neato, i'll just settle for my rain and ice here in PA.

its nice when you go to make a turn and only hear a horrible chattering noise but continue to go straight because your park skis have edges about as sharp as a number 2 pencil after a 10 page essay.

sigh... tear....

Expert Chutes and Bernies Bowl ripped out. Bunch of other slides on

low-angle terrain. Rock Springs slid twice. Four Pines went... all in the last two days. YIKES

But, Sweetwater was epic today!

a pic 'cause it totally happened... this is Andrew aka FreshCoast on here sometime in the afternoon today

Alta's been pretty ridiculous... most of the mounatain was closed today, the avi danger's outta control. A cat was grooming tonight down at the Bird and got buried in an avalanche, and had to have 4 other cats come and dig it out. 10" today and another 20 coming tonight and tomorrow, not to mention all the other snow this week. and we've got interlodge til at least noon tomorrow

yeah dude, that is sick... the whole west coast has been pounded this past week.. i'm facking pumped for this season to kick off, should be tight

i love jackson hole, that whole area is awesome... even in the summer that place is sick...

THAT IS LITERALLY THE GREATEST FUCKING NEWS EVER!!!!! im heading to jackson on sunday!!!!!!!! holy fucking shit im so stoked now!

wow fuck this every time I leave utah I regret it... I am living there for the rest of my life I guess.

what have we learned here? two years after al gore told us earth was going to burn up due the massive amount of greenhouse gas release, we've begun to have epic conditions. so go out there and spray some CFCs in the air, leave your refrigerator door open, leave the car running at all times, and turn the thermostat up to 90..............because we're making it shit snow in the mountains.

.............this just in. everylift ticket purchase comes with two free hand charges so you can do your own control work. a jug of anfo and some duct tape is $50 extra.

son of a bitch!!! we were supposed to be leaving today for jackson until my bro hurt himself and we had to cancel our trip. god damnit. im stoked for jackson and anyone there, but fuckin pissed im not goin anymore

Fuck that is rediculous how much snow you are getting. The PNW is getting shitted on also. The most snow that was ever in my yard was about 1 foot before this year. There is over 2 feet of snow in my backyard right now. You can't even tell where my backyard rail is anymore.

Holy shit.. I get shivers thinking about Jackson in those conditions.. Wow. What I wouldn't give to be there rright now

word, jackson is going off. unfortunately, its almost too much snow. rendezvous bowl slid all the way down to union pass lift today (thats literally top to bottom) and there were more than 360 inbounds slides, not to mention the out of bounds stuff. everything is closed, which sucks. only the beginner chairs, casper, AV, and like 2 runs off the gondola are open. Yesterday was so sick, but by the time the gondola opened today, everything was instatly tracked out. I hate to admit this, but i hiked the park all morning after getting 30+ inches... (this was when only 2 lifts were open, but still) tomorrow is my last day here, but then 3 days at targhee, so im super pumped.

The iceing on the cake is i had lunch next to dick cheney /claim!

im 6'4 and it was the first time i've never been able to see where i was going because of a relentless, never-ending, amount of face shots... lick my balls ns...

we had a shit load of snow in the east, i got up to okemo wedenday, the day it rained, thursday was shit... FUCK THE WEST!!!! all the amazing snow and i dont get to touch it

After waiting in line until 11:30 for the gondi to hopefully open, I peaced out. Got the goods yesterday and couldn't do the line thing again. I'm also gonna be super selfish and say that I hope the Tram and Thunder don't open tomorrow because I have to work all day. From the sounds of it, they won't open.

Does anyone know if anything has slid to the ground? Hope some shit did so we can start fresh with the snowpack.

It's not that it snowed too much. It's more that it snowed a lot on top of a nasty rain crust. And, the snow we got overnight last night was heavier than the 4% goodness that fell during the day. So, the problem is sketchy snowpack, not too much snow!

sorry for the double post.
Over here on the east coat (Boston) it hasn't been below freezing since tuesday. It issupposed to be SIXTY degrees out this sunday, and isn't supposed to get below freezing for another week.
Suck my left nut.I want snow.

yeah apparently snowpack is SUPER sketch up in the cooke city area of montana, and to a little lesser degree in the big sky/bridger area. its all that damn rain we got in november
