Holiday valley or kissing bridge-season pass

Soon I'll be moving to the Springville NY area, and was wondering what peole who live there think is the better place to get a pass. Ive never been to KB, and have skied HV 4 or 5 times. Is HV so much better that its worth the drive down? Or is KB good enough that its better to just go there daily and save some of the drive time? Thanks for any info!

go to holiday, hands down. better skiing, park, nice trees, etc. more expensive, but it will keep you interested much longer.

Just checked your profile. I see you are an older shredder. HV defiantly is the better place to go then. There is a group of older shredders always ripping the park there. I feel that Kb is a bit younger crowd.

since when do they have the better park? kb kicked ass in the park dept. last year. holiday has a rich snotty cold vibe to me, not a huge fan. kb just feels like home.

So true that HV doesn't have a good vibe. The park manager/other managers really don't have a clue on how to use their money to improve their park too.

yet it feels like everyone i talk to likes holiday. doesn't it just feel like home at kb? cool park, cool vibe, and i love their lodges, so much more basic compared to holiday, it just feels better. though I'm not gonna argue with holidays delicious cajun fries. but kb>holiday, I'll make a few trips out to hv most likely, but kb is just where its at. Holiday feels like a resort, KB feels like a home.

I am an "older" (27) shredder as well. I can tell by the 2003 join date to the site (think I'm 2001). I agree that KB is a younger crowd. There's nothing wrong with that, but my friends and I ski the park on weekends and love to shred the woods (powder skis!). Lots of good tree runs if you know where to look. We usually hit up KB on Thursday nights after work for less expensive tickets and the bar.

I don't know if I'm one of the older shredders in the park that General ripper is referring to, but I like to think that we have fun. Falling down and getting up is becoming more difficult, however.

Not saying it in a negative way. I just feel like its alot more fun to ski park with someone you can relate to (like any activity for that matter). Like you said you go to KB on Thursdays and end up at the bar with everyone after. I'm 22 and the first year I got a taste of the whole ride hard/yardsale/go to bar with buddies was probably one of my favorite seasons of riding and I couldn't have done that if they were not my age.

Also you guys got to check out HV tree skiing, shits top notch for WNY

Thanks for the ideas everyone. It almost seems like I can t lose with either place. I think ultimately my decision will rest on where I end up moving to. I would love to just relocate right to Ellicottville, however I think the daily commute into Hamburg might be rough. Especially when some of those legendary western New York lake effect storms hit! My employer is dragging their feet, so I may be a year early with this post anyway. Right now the hill where i ski has a massive 280 vertical. So the chance to double that is awesome. And yep I am for sure part of the older crowd. Let's just say 30+!

if you're "old" like me, then you probably want HV. Nothing against KB, just a better place for our age group.

See you out there!

love the vibe at KB too, there's a sense of "family" between the freeskiers also, everyone knows everybody, so you can just ski with who ever is shredding, it can be pretty snooty at hv sometimes...
