I miss it too dude. the NHL is so fucked though, because they're going to lose alot of fans (if they have a season next year)... but nobody will buy any items endorsed by the NHL or any merchandise... which sucks for them. I sure as hell I know I wont contribute anything to them after they've fucked things up so bad. If they don't have a season again next year, I think the NHL is done.

seasons over, fuck you NHLPA, they should have used replacement players over those greedy fucks....at least now Atlanta Highschool hockey is getting good crowds.....

atleast there is a bonus to all this misery for me. This kid at my school bet my friend and I that dallas would win the cup. And we told him before we made the bet that there was going to be no hockey but he didnt listen and now he owes each of us 50 bucks. Its sweet.

what can american fans do to convince the NHL that teams can be successful? all the papers keep writing about how no one cares about hockey in the US and so its just gonna fall apart. how can you gauge the interest in something that doesn't exist. i live in san jose, and last year we had the best year in franchise history. this year there would have been a hella big following, now we'll never know. any ideas?

the players are ridiculous. They're complaining about potentially missing out on 2 million dollars a year, but fuck, theyre still going to be making 4 million a year! They're too greedy, and should think what they're salary would be if they weren't playing hockey, if they weren't playing a game for a living. I think the NHL should contract itself, get rid of the teams that are losing the most money. Fuck, I miss watching games with the boys gettin hammered

^ yeah, they do make alot, although they deserve it because think of the hundreds of thousands of kids that want to be pros, and the handful that actually make it. I mean, people are always saying things like 'Oh, doctors should be making more because they actually help and save peoples lives' and whatnot. But really, to become a doctor, all you have to do is study hard throughout university and have some skills to go with it. To become a pro hockey player, you have to train your entire life, drink protein supplements, practice and play for hours and hours a day, and devote your entire life to it.
but, it is true, they make a ridiculous amount of money, just to provide us with entertainment... but the problem is they've had a high salary since the beginning, and no one wants to have it cut. maybe if they were only getting so much from the beginning, everything would be fine, but to have like 25% of your salary removed... I understand the frustration

Yeah, i know that the players of the NHL are all ridiculously talented, but i still dont think they should be getting anywhere near that much money. yeah they've trained alot to get to where they are now, but who's to say that doctors, teachers, and others havent worked most of their life to get to where they are?
and the outcome of what the players do doenst really have that much impact on society. they're hired to help the team win the Stanley Cup, and if they win, hey, good for them, they've jsut done their job. if they dont even make the playoffs, boo hoo, i'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
but on the other hand, if if a doctor doesnt get their job done, someone could be dead, or get really sick. if a teacher does a bad job with their students, who knows, maybe one of them will turn out to be a bum in the streets, or live off welfare, draining the economy, adding to taxes. if a firefighter doesnt do his job, homes will burn. you get the idea.
i jsut think that based on the actual importance of the NHL and other various sports leagues, none of them should be getting anything near the amount of money that they recieve.

no, they shouldn't be getting as much money as they are, but how about the A-Rod's and the LeBron James'? that shit's just obnoxious. A-Rod with $15X Mil for a couple seasons? what the fuck? yeah he's very talented, but damn, that's unnecessary.
i think one main reason for the hockey fan drop is football. all these people are flocking to see this game that requires virtually no skill over one that requires extreme athleticism, finesse, and natural skill. that is retarded. i think it's because of advertising. companies just want to advertise with football for some reason. i guess because it's considered the ''man's sport'' or some bullshit like that.
