Hockey Gabber

Avs-Knights will be interesting. Knights have pretty much controlled play for the last 2 games and are starting to find ways to score on Grubauer. If the Avs don't come up with a way to at least even up the shot totals tonight I think they lose in 7 if not earlier. Either way I think that whoever wins this series takes the cup so I'm hoping that the Avs can pull it off.

Also kinda funny that the moment Reaves gets suspended the Knights start winning... maybe wasting 10mins of ice time a night on a plug wasn't a good strategy?

Avs falling apart rn. Fuck

Yeah this is hard to watch. Shots are lopsided for the 3rd game in a row. High Danger Chances are 17-4 in favor of Vegas. Hopefully getting first change at home can get the top line some chances on Tuesday but other than that I'm not sure what's left for Bednar to try. Vegas is looking really, really good.

SCREW THE BREWS!!!

As a rangers fan I hate to say this, but I hope the islanders win. They’ve just been so fun to watch and are playing so well and I hate the Bruins even more

Montreal now facing either Avs or Vegas, and go the furthest of the canadian teams. Hope its the Avs though would be a better series

Our Defense is legit insanity. B's gotta be so frustrated and rightfully so but this series isn't yet over.

pretty funny the b's coach whining bout the refs calls

yeah buddy they dont call em goals until ya puts the puck in the net

and you didnt do that and lost

again

there were a bunch of hits to Varly from B's players which weren't called. I'm sick of these chumps whining. Take the L like a man and prepare for the next game.

ISLES MAKE IT BACK TO THE CONFERENCE FINALS FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW TONIGHT BABY

LGI

I hope Vegas wins it all. They’ve been pesky, always a stanley cup contender, just get it done already. You could say the same about Avs, but just ugh.

Also, i’m not worried, but a Canadian team can’t win it. Maybe the Flames or Jetz, but not a team named the damn canadiens.

I stand by my prediction

Canucks have just had a little shakeup in their coaching staff. Bringing in Brad Shaw as an assistant coach should help out Green, PP coach was fired (last season we have the 3rd best PP in the league or something), and thank god Ian Clarke is back for goaltending coach to make sure Demko keeps kicking ass.

Im pretty excited for this offseason and early next season to see how the nucks perform. these new coaches should def help and i think they provide a much needed change.

as for playoffs:

both vegas vs mtl and tampa vs NY seem impossible to predict. so many upsets this year, could go either way. most likely both 6-7 game series but i see tampa and vegas moving on. but ive been wrong all year so who knows

Bummed MTL had a flukey run and made it to the semis. They honestly don't stand a chance against Vegas. Leafs or Jets both would have had a better shot at making the finals, and if there's one thing hockey fans can agree on it's fuck Vegas. A team that shouldn't exist in a city that shouldn't exist.

I really want to see the leafs put it all the pieces together one year. I'm not sure it'll happen with this core, but damn they've suffered enough in all honesty. Yeah their fanbase is insufferable, but my time literally torched cars and rioted when they didn't win.

Never write of Carey Price though, MTL could come back and decide to not let any goals in. Then Caufield can get the easy tap in and spam TSN for a while. Habs in 5.

Also just found out the Carey Price's nickname is Larry. That shit is too funny. Wish my name rhymed with something funny.

How was it a fluke?

Yes.

Can’t wait to see what happens to their fan base once they suck. Maybe they’ll get moved to QC.

They barely made the playoffs, had a pretty shit record against the teams they played against during the regular season, and have a team with little depth and no star players (maybe Price). 4/5 times Toronto or Winnipeg would have won those series.

Winning 1 game is a fluke. I don't understand how 7 in a row can ever be seen as a fluke. If Winnipeg or Toronto could compete with Vegas they would have won.

During the regular season most of the Habs best players were injured. And they have few star players, but it's specifically their depth which at least gives them some edge. Their 4th line is one of the strongest parts.

I'm obviously a Habs fan, but I am realistic; I try not to be a fairweather fan. Big chance they get eliminated this series. But the whole "they got lucky" narrative makes no sense. No one in the conference finals is lucky (Habs, islanders, whoever).

Canadiens are the real deal. Look at the Islanders . The leagues "Boring Team". Sure they don't really have many stars... but the chemistry and heart is there. Same with the Habs. We all deserve an isles Habs Cup final

7 in a row can definitely be a fluke. Remember when the Sens went like 20-1 at the end of the season to squeak into the playoffs from an impossible position? Then they went back to playing exactly as they had all season and were out first round. A flukey 20+ game run that put them into the playoffs when they had no business being there. On paper Montreal is a very mediocre team. Their top point getter in the regular season was 50th in the league. I'll give you Price being a star, but I certainly wouldn't put him top 3 this past season and hasn't been top 3 in a few years.

I'll absolutely take a Montreal win, but Toronto certainly has the higher ceiling and if they didn't constantly choke in the playoffs they would have a much better chance of winning against Vegas and winning the cup.

BS. 8 seeds can win the cup. It's all about chemistry, heart and getting hot when it counts. What's on paper doesn't mean shit. Look at the yankees. Amazing on paper - all overpaid, washed up, show offs that are 8 games back.
