yesss boys that would be sick! i remember being in a ns fantasy hockey league in 2010 on yahoo. im on a yahoo league rn with my freinds/fam but hey i think i can handle being in 2 leagues! shits fun as fuck and we dont even pay or anything in mine, just for braggin rights but i wouldnt mind throwin in a few bucks for whoever wins in the end
 
Nathan McKinnon is the next Alex Ovechkin, by which I mean it would be a fucking shame if he never wins a cup as he’s one of the most natural leaders to ever play the game.

and college hockey playoff seeding is going to be a fucking shit show. God, fuck covid. Fuck. UMD got so fucking screwed with a 3peat chance
 
jesus christ the avs need to start drinking milk or something, injuries are getting ridiculous. kinda worried that the vets and young guys won't be able to develop any sort of game chemistry because they are rarely healthy at the same time

It’s been their biggest problem the last 2-3 years... can’t stay healthy and can’t perform consistently because the lines are constantly rotating to fill in for the injuries

Everyone knows I'm a diehard isles fan. I'm fucked from going to any games because of the COVID testing protocols in NY... too much of a hassle for me. 72 hour test before the game. They're playing jersey tonight and I know someone who snagged a ticket. No covid tests in Jersey. Legal pot and sports gambling also in Jersey. But fuck Jersey.
 
I’ve been an Av’s fan since I could walk (and subsequently skate). Grew up watching the 90’s Avalanche rivalry with the Red Wings. Loved watching Roy fight Vernon/Legacy/Osgood. Roy was an absolute madman and I loved it.

wish i was around for that. the roy/osgood fight was the first clip my dad showed me when i started watching hockey. also will never forget him shoving the bench partition during his first game as coach. lol

Normally I’d agree if it was a single woman and that was the end of it. However, i draw the line at accusations from multiple women. That combined with his past history of being an abusive douchebag doesn’t make me want to believe him. Getting off on a sexual assault/rape case because “there wasn’t significant evidence of penetration .... as needed by New York State Laws” doesn’t mean there wasn’t a sexual assault that took place. If you’d spend 2 minutes talking to the guy, you’d realize he was a piece of shit with a natural talent for hockey. Doesn’t make him any less of a piece of shit though.

Played with a bunch of kids from Buffalo and not a single one had anything positive to say about him. He would go to open hockey session and rent the ice so nobody else could use it, shoot pucks for 20 minutes and leave. There were also rumors of shit he did while in London in the O...

but yes, I fully agree; Fuck Tom Wilson. Another guy that shouldn’t be playing with all the long-term injuries he’s caused.

Also 7 games was not enough for Wilson. fuck that guy. And he could be a half decent player if he wasn't such a dickhead.

The Ref controversy from last nights Detroit/Nashville game is interesting. Long story short: the on-ice mics picked up a ref talking about he made a call just to "even" things up and people are pissed....Don't think it would have made a difference cuz the wings were playing poorly but still, im sure from a player perspective you don't want to hear that or know that.

Begs the question of how often this goes on though. Im sure its a thing in other sports, but I recall plenty of tight playoff games in recent years where refs called things pretty loose, let guys take each other down/slash/etc. cuz its the heat of the moment and you don't wanna stop the action.

I think the league did what they had to do. It's pretty clear that refs do this in all sports to make sure they don't call a game in favor of one team or another, but obviously the NHL doesn't want to acknowledge it.

Playoffs is different because it's just playoff hockey. You want the players to actually be able to play the game and not have to stop it every few minutes. I have nothing to back this up with, but I also think there will be more penalties in playoff games because there's more that they're playing for

I thought it was a given that everyone knows the refs try to even up penalties. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

make up calls are for sure a real thing. It sounds silly but I actually like seeing make up calls, especially in the playoffs and the month leading up
 
Eric Staal to the Habs. As a Habs fan super excited about the trade, might actually help us a bit. As a someone who feels bad for the pathetic team that is buffalo, I hope they get something good for the draft picks. I can't imagine being a fan, 15 losses in a row geez.

I wanted to see Montreal get some more star power rather than veteran depth. Staal is a g, and I'm glad he's out of that hell hole but idk how much he'll bring to a team with as much depth as the Habs.

I also have no idea on their cap situation after last off season/
