"Some person or persons have been affixing hypodermic needles to the

underside of gas pump handles. These needles appear to be infected with

HIV positive blood. In the Jacksonville area alone there have been 17

cases of people being stuck by these needles over the past five months.

We have verified reports of at least 12 others in various states around

the country. It is believed that these may be copycat incidents due to

someone reading about the crimes or seeing them reported on the

television. At this point no one has been arrested and catching the

perpetrator(s) has become our top priority.

Shockingly, of the 17 people who where stuck, eight have tested HIV

positive and because of the nature of the disease, the others could

test positive in a couple years.

Evidently the consumers go to fill their car with gas, and when picking up the pump handle get stuck with the infected needle."

i dont know if this is true or not, but this hit my school just a few days ago.

anyone got any info on this?
 
yeah i think this is true, im not sure where it was but i remember seeing it on tv or something

no. i got it from my teachers on Wednesday. they said that there were reported cases in ontario, manitoba, and bc
 
Read your story that you posted and then read the story that has been debunked on snopes. They sound almost exactly the same. This may have happened before, IDK but I seriously doubt that this has happened 17 times in the past 5 months.
 
ya i've read my story and the snopes. i know they are the same, i just chose that one b/c it sounded pretty close to the one that was read to me in school. and you dont know how many people go to a regular gas pump in a day to fill up their vehicle. alot of people can touch one single pump handle in a day. so over 5 months im suprised that there are 17 "reported" cases and not more.
 
ya i heard about someone doing this with those like little metal push tac's like 7 years ago this is old news broooo

Thats the problem with our society; we just don't respect and love each other. There was an incident like this in Amsterdam a while back where at dance clubs and such that would stab victims with used needles on the dancefloor. I am not sure how legitimate this story is but I heard it from a few people who live there. I really don't understand how one could do something like that to another person.

There is something similar to this, that I know is a real story. My parents live in Canada and it was really big in the news. SOme sick man put shards of broken glass in the sandboxes and parks. AHHHH.

I really just understand, but this is the world we're living in, so pray for others.

this guy in my town ran around robbing convenient stores holding a needle with water and red food coloring in it saying it was HIV infected blood........it didn't work out too well for him
 
how can anyone be that fucked up? trying to give someone hiv is pretty much giving them a long and painful death sentence
 
i dont know if this is true or not but some kid told me that he went to this rave where some dude was walking around poking people with a needle infected with HIV and after he did it he would slap a sticker on people that said "welcome to the magical world of AIDS". whether thats true or not you gotta wattch your back because there are some fucked up people.
 
he has a point, maybe if it were true we would've heard about it from other sources besides a baked kid. it seems a little ridiculous but even though it's most likely bullshit i will still check my gas pump handle
 
someone/ some people in my town was putting razorblades in the cracks between plastic playground slides, so when a kid slide over them it would rip there clothes and possibly cut them. i guess one kid got cut pretty bad when he went down on his back. It stopped after that though

First of all, to get HIV from a dirty needle, there needs to be a decent amount of blood, more than just a little needle would hold on its own, unless they had an entire syringe affixed to the bottom of those handles..

There also needs to be more contact than just a pinprick to your hand. Yes it can happen, but the chance is pretty low that you'll come in contact with alot of blood from a pinprick to your finger and if you do come in contact with blood there has to be a good quantity of live HIV cells to get you sick, and they can't survive out of the body forever.
 
Whether this particular tale is true or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that it is entirely possible that some fucked up person out there could do something similar to this. Not saying that you should never leave the house, in fact there's not much you could do to prevent this from happening, but it's still pretty eerie and discomforting to think about.
 
Not wishing to lend credibility to these stories, which do sound like exagerrated scaremongering, but one of my good friends got randomly stuck with a needle whilst in Thailand, he had a test and he was ok, but it was a scary experience.
 
Yeah yeah, that's basically what I'm saying. It's possible, but you could also trip and die randomly so there's not much you can do. It'd be a waste of time to worry.
