Hitting a summer setup

So I'm fairly new to skiing, but I've had a summer setup for snowboarding for a while. Recently I've realized it's been hard for me to get the complete rail on skis, and I'm not totally sure why. I might just suck at skiing, but also I've thought that it could partially be all about the drop in when I go to hit a rail. It's super hard to adjust your take off when hitting a summer setup due to loss of edge control and limited turn ability. So NS do I suck at skiing that bad, or is it just hard to dial in how to drop in on a summer setup?

Just practice it man, itll come eventually! summer setups are generally less than ideal for learning on

You also may need more speed. Trying pushing off harder and pumping at the bottom of the drop in to give you more speed
