Just as written above,I will be in squaw valley late feb, never skied in Cali mostly canadian west coast.

Hoping some guru's or locals can give me some suggestions on where the best riding could be found. (cliffs, pillows, trees etc etc)

No need to give away your secret spots just a few suggestions, don't wish to waste time while im there.

thanks,

Littarly go up any of the main lifts and then you will pretty much find what you are looking for. Remember though lots of the cliff signs really mean cliff and lots of cliffs don't have signs.

I think he was referring to the backcountry nearby, not the resort or sidecountry (which is still really good). Where are you staying at? I hear that the best is near Donner, but I haven't really spent much time up there. I can ask an older local guy about some of his favorite spots if you'd like. Have fun over there!

In that case none. Please don't come to Tahoe and ski back country and get caught in avalanches. There is PLENTY of good terrain at any of the major resorts besides maybe Northstar.

Yeah i did mean outside of the resort area. But from what i see there hasn't been much on the side of snow in cali these past few weeks. hopefully that means a good dump when i get there at the end of the month.

Looks like squaw has plenty to keep me occupied around the resort. i hear Granite chief and kt22 are the lifts to ride.

No good backcountry in tahoe? I beg to differ... Also are you making the assumption that everyone who steps into the backcountry gets caught in avalanches? Maybe the OP was looking to save money and get some exercise along with some decent/good turns... just like anyone else who spends a large portion of their time outside of the resort. Not arguing that the resort doesn't offer good terrain, just trying to say their are other reasons to draw one beyond its boundaries.
