heyyy so yeah i dont have a car. I live in Fort Collins which is 2 hours away from summit county... so im trying to hitch-hike leaving thursday trying to get home around sunday... if you see a guy with tele skiis on his back pick him up haha.... any ever done it and advice?

No advice for you, but if I have space I always pick up any hitch hiker with skis or a snowboard. I figure I could be that guy needing a ride to the mountain.

I wish everyone accepted that same rule. I have never hitched long distance, but from what people tell me, a sign is critical.

man i can give you a ride up to summit if you need. im gonna be hittin up abasin on saturday so let me know if u want a lift

i always pick up people with ski or snowboard stuff. My friend almost died when he picked up a drunk in conway,NH. He had a concealed weapon (AKA a gun)

I hitch-hicked to work last week when my car was in the shop. It's about a 45 minute drive. I was picked up by two different people, I was picked up by the second car that passed after I had stuck my thumb out. But I live in Tahoe, so people are chill. I pick up every hitcher i see in Tahoe, but none in the cities.

I only pick up people who have skis or a board. No drunk hairy bums get into my car....unless they have some sweet skis.

i've been hitching for many many years. and i'm still alive.

but then again. i live in canada, and i'm not even sure if our cops have guns.
