Long story short: I'm a broke ass college student from the midwest looking at taking a train to Denver. Once I get there I am considering hitch hiking to Breck. Any input as to how doable this is?
I'm sure you'd be able to get a ride... might be a PAIN in the ass to do... it would help out ALOT if you had a very beautiful female companion with LONG legs
awesome idea, go for it, you'll be fine as long as you've still got like $300 when you get to breck, you'll be able to survive till you get a job and a pay check and shit (which is pretty easy in breck, people are coming and going all the time). big-ups to sacking up and travelling, your the man
DU would probably be a better bet. i could probably just find you a ride. you best luck might be a "give me a ride from denver to breck january 5th" thread
I can get you a ride from Conifer (highway 285) to Loveland if not Frisco. PM me for my cell. Im usually driving that way to go ski Loveland a few times a week
i think there were some buses that you can catch from outa town but you still have to get to there.anyway i'm thinking of coming this winter to denver but am alone and searching for people to ski with.that is if i can find the money to get there...gl with your trip
The train will drop you off in Winter Park, or if that doesn't work, Glenwood Springs. From Glenwood, you can take the county bus to Aspen. No need to hitch hike from Denver.
HUGE, plus i dont even think they sell one-way tickets. CO mountain express would be cheaper, but even that's more expensive than you're looking for. there are cheaper, friendlier ways to get where youre going.
I've been looking at train tickets and I seem to have found a one-way from Mt. Pleasant IA, to Denver CO. Price is about $87 which doesn't seem like too much of a rip off. It's better than taking a plane at least. Besides driving in a group (which I can't do) is there some cheaper way of getting there?
you could ride a road bike... my friends went cross country, but i wouldnt do that alone, and getting a good enough bike and paying for the food etc. would be more that $90
I will be back in Denver early Dec. and will be heading to Breck on a pretty regular basis. PM if that is around your approximate timeline. Always room for one more in the car.
And good for you man. Livin the dream!
i always just sneak into the underground train thing, but dont go on the train, and walk a little ways down the tunnel, and catch the secret direct-to-the-mtns train
