History Research paper

I have a 10 page research paper in history. It has to be from something in the past, and nothing going on right now. It needs to be a little be controversial, and in a question form that raises more questions. Then throughout the paper, you are supposed to answer these questions.Does anyone have any good topics with lots of info?
thanks

open your textbook and point to one page and i guarantee there is something on that page worthy of writing an entire book about

so much shit happened, pick something you're sort of interested in and form a narrow question

i recently wrote a research paper on how lewis hine (photographer in early 1900's) fit the description of a traditional muckraker and how his covert work with the national child labor committee brought out the flaws of the governmental protection of the corporations

yeah bro what do you like? like whats interesting to you and i could hook you up with ideas im going to school to be a history teacher

i talked about how he conformed to the standards of a muckraker...muckrakers=paparazzi snitch dudes

never denied that, never addressed hine's intelligence

and also do you think it was for a bad cause? 9 year olds working in factories is cool?

something along the lines of this would be VERY interesting. great idea.

although you could / should explore the idea that the outlawing of child labor was not because of government mandates. because in all honesty child labor although not to the extent it did exist still exists today. was concern with child labor a product of "progressive forward thinking" or is/was it a byproduct of a fruitful nation?

if you have a hard time putting food on the table it would seem that child labor wouldnt be something in the forefront of your mind.

so did the government end child labor? or did child labor come to an end because it was fast becoming obsolete?

thanks for all the replies, i put all down on a piece of paper so i could choose laterto the person who ask what am i interested in: well, i am interested in a lot of things, i just usually have to spend a lot of time reading about it and finding interesting aspects of it. for example, when i found out about newschoolers and got into freestyle skiiing, i had a project in history and we had to write a "fake" interview we wouldd have with someone who impacted history. so i choose tanner hall, and my teacher thought it was really cool because even though tanner didnt impact history, he impacted newschool skiing, something my teacher knew i loved

right about manifestdestiny, tons of info and perspectives. spans from the conquest of the west, to US expansion into the pacific. could touch on mexican american war, spanish american war, as well as philipino insurrection. would be real easy, and the content is fairly straight forward.
