Hip hop

I have to write a paper for my school about the positive and negative influences hip hop has. basically I need some arguments for/againts hip hop culture, and some song/lyric/quote suggestions to back those up. I want to prove that hip hop doesn't have a completely bad influence and that a lot of times its looked at in the wrong way.

Rapping has helped a lot of people get out of bad situations that they were in. Rappers who actually grew up living the gang life and violence they rap about could easily be dead now if some record label didn't pick them up and save them from the dangerous lifestyle they were living.

I think rap and hip-hop in general helps to motivate people. It can help them let out their feelings and anger in a way. People can relate to it and it can make them feel good about themselves.
