Anyway, Skiing and Rap?

I think like all this rap music dont work together with ski movies. I'm tired of all this "In da club spank my bitches mother fucker weed and cash" That's a typical gangsta song. I the music in Teddy bear crisis is much better. and here's a few other ones =

(I'm not saying that all hip-hop music in Ski-videos suck) :D
 
It depends how it's presented.

I listen to groups like the Wu-tang clan, Jedi mind tricks, and Big L, but I don't act like a gangster, I just like the music. If somebody puts gangster rap in a video that's fine, until they start acting like thugs through the whole movie, *cough* PYB *cough* that it pisses me off
 
it depends on the segment/movie, i personally thought Sammy's song in War fit it well, and the theme of TBC went perfect with the music

anyways. i half agree. i agree that skiing should not be connected to that sort of image, but the music is great. it keeps the person that is watching the segmet/movie/edit captivated in some ways. techno has good beats too..but i find there isnt really a variety of techno to be used in ski movies.

but i guess with the gangsta beats, comes the gangtsa image.

i dont remember what movie it was but there was a guy in the 2nd disc rapping about sking, kinda

and jumping off of all kinda of random stuff
 
freeskiing in general is only done by a small group of people in the world.

i dont see why we should divide the community with music.

we all ski. we all have different styles.

In my opinion...

Everyone should dress how they want and listen to whatever music they want. As long as they are nice people.

I'm a TBC kinda guy... but I do enjoy the occasional rap song haha!

but that is awesome there good rappers and fukin sik skiers
 
wen it comes to that 1st video (ATA trains) im pretty sure if they had britney spears music it would still be sic....but about the hip-hop gansta wangsta----i think it goes real good with skiing...jus for the beats and shit
 
techno and hip-hop are the better kinds of music used in park vids. jus the flow and beats. but let people be who they are and listen to wut they want. keep it original
 
rap is definately the way to go for edits. I listen to rap all the time, but i also listen to other stuff. The music in the teaser was not good. It would have been much better if it was edited to rap.
 
i like the more underground style rap in ski vidoes, not the "real gangsta" stuff. for example, Invincible and Shook ones were perfect songs for the segments they were in. I think the laid back hip-hop beats go awsome with ski videos, especially with park segments.
 
most of the hip hop in ski vids is not the "smack my bitch then eat some chicken wings" type of hip hop.

Anyways, I'm a big fan of reggae in edits, just because I love reggae while I ski... Shit looks WAY better if you are relaxed when you hit it.
 
hip hop and skiing dont go mopst skiers are a bunch f white boys who think its all cool to act gangsta and wheer there pants dow to there anles and alot of them are very wealthy considering they ski at nice clubs d then they pretend to be ghetto and shit and u know who we blame this all for TANNER HALL he is the BIGGEST WANGSTA EVER and he is so fucking overrated
 
The new wave stuff in Teddybear crisis is fantastic especially Blood by the Editors for the Jon Larsson bit.

But I think a variety of Hiphop / Rock like on Front Line and Yearbook works best. It makes it less samey all the way through.
 
yeah vanular killin' it. but yea i like rap, and i wear baggy clothes because its comfy, but im no "gangster" and i act like a normal, nice guy.
 
In that second one, the song was awesome...for a trailer. It def. would not have worked very well for a segment. I think Trip-hop would work pretty well, like RJD2, morcheeba, handsome boy and shit.
 
reggae is sick in ski movies and in PYP tanner and CR had the best songs Life is a great song and sean paul just works with skiing

I personally think that some hip hop and Rap music goes alot better than some techno and alternative stuff. If its got a good bass and beat, it just makes it that much more enjoyable to watch
 
I don't like much rap.. exept DL incognito, and some Atmosphere. i LOVE the music in TBC.. and that Hanz ZImmer song in the other link you posted, and from True Romance is sick.
