Hip bursitis

I'm surprised i never see anyone complain about this, it's always broken bones and torn ACL's

Anyway I slipped out on a rail and smashed my hip in pretty good and since then every time i fall on that side my hip blows up like I'm smuggling a softball. From what I've read the only solution is to just rest it and give it time to heal. The season is almost over for the east coast so I'm sure it will heal up sooner or later.

Anyone else suffer from this? any thing that helps?

I had one that plagued me for literally 2 months this season. It would get 90% better, then I would ski and somehow fall on the same spot making me go right back to 0% healed. It was the most annoying thing in the world because I had full range of motion, I could ski fine, but if I fell it would ruin me.

Mine finally went away with the like last 2 weeks left of the season. Now the season is over for cincinnati =/.

Damn, that sounds exactly like what I had.. I hit my first urban handrail pretty early this season (Early Jan) and took one nasty fall on it to my hip. My legs slid out from under me because I was so worried about actually getting onto the rail (which I later wound up having no problem with..), but anyway. I wound up having a huge and incredibly painful bruise right under where ones ass curves into their thigh, which eventually went away, but deep in the tissue it would still bother me on a regular basis (especially if I fell on it again). Well, even now the tissue still feels a little numb to the touch and tender, but with no visible bruise, and if I sit on it the right way or take a hip slide while skiing or extend my leg the right way, it flares up and comes back to me. I always thought I had just bruised the tissue down deeper then the surface tissues, but it could definitely be this now that I'm reading the symptoms and causes.

Yea its pretty annoying. Its funny because it doesn't really effect me when im skiing but if i fall on it even slightly it swells up and gets pretty painful. Also sitting in a chair and then trying to stand up is the worst, hurts like hell. Once i get moving though it doesn't hurt to bad.
