Hiking things for skis

I don't know what they are called but they go on your skis and it makes them cross country so you can hike up anyone know what I mean?

What you are looking for are skins. They are a 'skin' that goes on the base of your ski and allows them to have traction for going up hill but still allow you to glide down hill (you can slide them forward but not backwards) They are pretty common with backcountry guys.

this is true...

take an avi course and get all the safety gear, also, please. if youve never done bc before, dont go thinking that all you need are skins and randone (fuck that special e) bindings. if thats all you have, youre bound to get into trouble sooner or later.

^^

True story. Get a bekon, probe, shovel and a radio (make sure you know how to use all the equiptment properly). Let the park people know where you are planning on going, and getting back and most important go with someone experienced your first 5-10 times. And NEVER go alone.
