hiking for your snow

me and a couple of friends drove up to mt. rainer (in washington), and hiked almost 2 miles with our gear until we got to a snowfield. then we skied for 4 hrs, having to hike every time, but it was so worth it. anyone who thinks hiking for skiing is a waste of time is full of bullshit

'i ski powder only, not park'-hoosey

hiking for your runs is much more worthwile then liftin' it up. Even back at the east coast, theres nothing quite like waking up at 5 in the morning, hikeing to the top of the hill, and getting those 7:00 or earlyer runs in.

God is an American.

so true it is so worth it if you are a true skier you will have to hike at least once in your skiing career even pros still have to hike.

Aint nothing but a g thang

oh no, not at all, but i do manage to keep myself out of trouble at least 1 night a week. Its not like its that hard to wake up at 5 in the morning anyway.

in my opinion, your not a real skier and probably only some park rat if you've never hiked for snow. You don't have to hike all the time but if you don't actually have to work for your turns your not experiencing all the aspects that skiing has to offer.

When you hike for snow, its usually feels som much better. Hiking to pwder makes it just seem that bit better, it seems you earned it.

I go to Red lake area here in Tahoe about twice a week. theres some good snow feilds with a bunch of pvc jibs set up. hike hike hike!

yay skiing

I have no problem waking for powder, even if it means I'm still in a drunken stuper.

better to burn out...

...then fade away

i've hiked up to muir before on rainier and skied down. It is so worth it. Feels good to ski in may too.

I am very discouraged to the fact that the site adminster didn't look at my profile or ask before doing something like this. I may be new to this website but I have been skiing more then most of you.

PLEASE research or ask before making such assumptions like this one.

i would hike for snow, and im a park rat all the way. I would have tryed to bring a rail up or find some cliffs to drop/.

Girl: Did you get it?

Boy: Hold on. I'm looking.

Girl: That was me back in may

Girl: I've lost weight since then.

Boy: I hope so

Girl: what?!?

hiking is where its at. i do lots of it even around the resort and bc. i usually hike rails, the park, and the steps to your moms house.

man 2 miles for snow is nothing. Last summer me and 2 of my buddies went 7 miles to a snow field that was wicked sick, stayed for 3 days and skied the entire time, the face was probably 40-45 degree's way fun until one of my buddies got pulmonary adema and almost died and we had to carry all his shit down along with out 70 pound packs, that was a bitch.

misty7...remeber we hiked from south hill road to the park to hit some jumps and rails with a lil bit of snow left from the tables...i think thats the best you can do on a flat slope and no pow

dont go to new york. all it has to offer is i love ny stickers
