Highway massacre

k soo we did 100 about a mile before this happened. we slowed down to

85.. traffic was going 85 we were in the fast lane. when the deer

headed for us we switched lanes and were boxed in we couldnt do nothing about it. you wernt there... dont know the situation. pay attention ok the car in front of us hit a deer and it eploded and blood went everywhere and we freaked out and then a deer plowed into the side of our car. we couldnt slam our brakes on due to the fact the the person behind us was on our ass. you dont even know where we were and how fast traffic goes soo you dont understand how fast this happened. soo get the fuck out and dont say to buy brembo's. yeah we should have gone 100 but i also wasnt driving. good job making your post look legit by looking up stopping distance on car and driver tho dude PROPS.

so you're saying you were boxed in but the deer managed to swerve the other cars to hit yours? i know it wasn't you but you're the one getting so defensive.
 
you stupid fuck, there were cars everywhere there was enough room for a deer to run in between 2 cars on one side left of me, on the right there was a car even with me, if i swerved left, it would have been into a car and also the deer, i made the best/safest choice in the matter of about 2 seconds, give me a brake, im sorry that you are god and you would have magically been able to avoid it.
 
i hit a deer in my old subaru... pushed the headlight fixture back into the egnige block and fuck up the side of my car leaving shit down my rear door and fender , yes i smacked the shit out of a deer. i was only going 45 i was not speed and i didnt see the deer untill it was about a foot away from my car... deer are fast, blend in in the fall and even insurance companies call hitting deer as "an act of nature" and dont hold the driver laible...for all you haters out there, fuck off.i hope you hit a deer becuase when you do you will understand that deer really do come out of nowhere.

This is where your story fails. The deer were on the other side of the freeway. There is a flat median, no trees or rocks. If they were on your side, yea I could see you hitting the deer. That line of vision all the way across the highway seems like enough time if you ask me.
 
really bahaha your gunna be that guy,ok then i do hope you hit a deer. becuase there is currently a huge overpopulation problem with deer. there destroying gardens and farmland and eating everything in sight, this is true. this is why state game laws make it much easier to get doe tags so that more people shoot them during hunting season.we also seem to have a a problem with to many douche bags so i figure that if you hit a deer you will kill the deer helping the environment as well as hopefully making you realize that hitting a deer with a car is something thats dam near unavoidable in turn saving you from being an ignorant douche.seriously why hate on this poor kid.
 
Someties they do, when driving on the highway people can get tunnel vison and in his case goign way too fast it probably did seem to come out of nowhere. Goign around a blind corner? sure that could happen to. It happens. When animals run across a highway with traffic moving 65-70 mph sometimes you just dont see them in time to brake or avoid the deer (which is actually more dangerous, a lot of accident happen because people swerve to avoid the deer and lose control)

When I hit the deer that I did, you can see inthe pic it just came from the side and ran directly into the side of my car. I was in teh left lane goign 70-75 tops and there were no other cars near me, I wouldnt say that the deer is "innocent" if it runs in the road in front of a car it deserves to be hit IMO. Dont get all animal rights on our asses. Its just a deer. In his case, if he was goign slower he might have been able to avoid it, maybe not hopefully he has comprehensive coverage on his insurance plan and it'll be covered (not under collision). In my case, there was no way I could have avoided it, by the time I saw the deer it was 10 feet in front of my car, didnt even have time to hit the brakes. That shit jsut happens sometimes
 
they taught us not to avoid animals in drivers ed. it is potentially more dangerous to you and other drivers on the road

i killed a squirrel the other day. i did slow down but the stupid fucker ran under my car so he gets what he deserves...

in the original post it sounded like speed had nothing to do with hitting the deer, did you read that?
 
Everyone who is bitching this kid out about choosing to hit a deer instead of possibly killing other people don't know what they're talking about. Not only can deer get onto the middle of a highway ridiculously fast, but once they're on the highway you can't predict which way they're going to run. Deer are horribly skittish and it's basically up to luck whether or not you hit one. I've been sitting in a parking lot not moving at all when a deer ran into my friends car. The car was completely off and NOT moving at all. OP I feel for your friends car. That shit really sucks.
 
In the UK you are always taught to hit the animal and not swerve to avoid it etc as it's the safest thing to do - unfortunately, that sort of panic swerving, breaking etc to avoid wildlife causes a lot of deaths and injuries every year.

As sad as it is, and unfortunate for the deer - you did the right thing.

Hitting anything that big in a car is a traumatic experience, and not one anyone would choose to do on purpose. I had friends who hit a deer in a car in Scotland and it messed them up - and i mean emotionally too....

This kid deserves no hate whatsoever - all this thread should do is serve as a warning that roads outside of urban areas are dynamic and to expect the unexpected.
 
deer are so fucking stupid, you see so many dead deer lying on the side of the road around here.

seriously, i cannot feel sorry at all for an animal that sees a highway full of 3000lb chunks of metal going 70 mph and thinks its a good idea to cross.

and whats even worse is when they freeze. i dont understand how they can survive in the wild.

there was one time when i came around a corner and there was a fox in the middle of the road, and literally within less than a second of seeing me he was back in the woods, now theres a smart animal.

ive had a couple encounters with deer, every time i was speeding, probably a good 20 mph over, and i could easily avoid them because i pay attention. but deer do sometimes come out of nowhere, and nomatter how slow you are going and how much you are paing attention you will hit them, it just happens.
 
theres nothing you can do if a deer jumps in front of your car, and thats exactly what they do, its happens very fast,
but if you guys saw them coming why didnt you just dodge it?
 
yeah but if you can't stop safely.... is what i meant... and that also means not skidding wildly..

in those situations, the safest thing to do is go through the deer... and hope it doesn't come through the windscreen and get you!

That is unfortunately the reality of those situations.

Some kid could of come on here and posted how his friend died swerving to miss a deer and ploughed into a tree instead....

think about it.
 
seriously. this is such a bad site to talk about speeding on. everyone on here is a fucking hippy but with a gangster attitude (the typical skier). so whenever it comes to anything fun, not economically friendly, or dangerous to animals they are always gonna disagree, and the gangster attitude just makes them impossible to argue with.
 
Did it look like it was fun for him? Are you saying he had fun hitting a deer and fucking up his car, your an asshole. I would be thoroughly upset.
 
it's always best to hit deer. your friend did the right thing. insurance covers it with no deductible and everything. it sucks but better than swerving and wrecking. should have killed a few more, so many deer are around nowadays it's ridiculous. overpopulation at it's best. oh and fuck the haters bitching about you speeding. who doesn't enjoy driving fast? pussies.
